A step backwards

While I expected some more growing pains and I did not see us competing for a national championship this year I did not expect us to miss the playoffs and move backwards. Very disappointed in the coaching staff. I think their decisions involving play calling, roster moves, and schemes did not pan out. The hour glass is starting to run out of sand grains. Next year better be a deep run in the playoffs. This is Griz Football we do not accept mediocrity.

Using this year as a template, sorry doesn't look good.

Very True! I suspect many empty home game seats are in the near future. This program is not earning the incredible fan/financial support it enjoys. A change is needed! :(

By change, I assume you mean to the guy that started this by making changes.

No Kidding. ANOTHER coaching change isn't going to solve it. In fact, ANOTHER coaching change will make it worse imho.

If you mean Engstrom, absolutely! He has been a disaster in too many ways! However, I see no evidence, yet, that Stitt will succeed at this level. Today's loss sure did not help! It is hard, at this point to say that not bringing Hauck back, when Delaney left was a wise decision. I know this is hindsight now but regardless, this program is in a steep decline! :(

Stitt started 10-5 with mostly Delaney recruits....released a ton, brought in a ton of his (including transfers who are not "freshmen"...Davidson, Banks, Horman, Hovey, Phillips etc) and had quite a bit of time with the ones he kept. This year AT BEST will be 7-4, might even take 8th place in conference Yippppeeeeee! Trend is not looking good

I don't think talent was the issue this year. We clearly had more talent than both Poly and UNC and had as much talent as EWU and NAU. Just watching the games, I don't attribute any of the losses of being out classed talent wise, beside not having an answer to Kupp (who does). The disappointing thing has been the effort and discipline on the road. I'm not sure the root cause of those issues. I don't think anyone really knows besides the coaches and players.

Great football programs aren't built in one or two seasons. I have concerns with Stitt and the coaching staff, but they will be here for at least another year, probably longer. As fans, I understand being angry and having very high expectations (we should), but I hope we don't abandon the team. Part of what makes this program special is the ruthless support of the fans. I hope fans continue to pack WaGriz, travel well on the road, and maintain the best game day environment in FCS football.

People aren't as enthusiastic and that is bad thing. Just ask Hillary Clinton.
