A quick browse through the Missoulian's "comments" sections

C'mon Brint! You're grasping at straws, man! You know damn well most of those comments are made by the same idiots that post here. The BIG difference is that those comments are tame in comparison to the posts that Gwen clearly pointed out on egriz. Have you ever seen a Missoulian comment advocating rape? Or calling a woman an offensive name? The answer is no. The reason? because they do a better job of screening the comments than do the mods here. Plain and simple. Nice try though...

Now, I have a house I'm interested in looking at. But you seem to be too busy here, so I think I'll call that other realtor. You know, the one that is interested in the customer's needs rather than spending his entire day defending a sports message forum?

You are just jumping to a conclusion based on too little information. Gosh, where have I heard of that kind of behavior before... It seems to be endemic these days.

I've seen plenty that say the exact same stuff that's said here and their recent web update removed a ton of the older stuff I'd seen when the word broke.

- I will give you this: I do expect that some of those commenters certainly post here, although I have no clue who does for sure.

- Have I ever seen an egriz post/thread ADVOCATING rape? I've seen one, by AlphaGriz and it was a sarcastic joke thread. I've seen many posts/suggestions as I've seen on missoulian.com that say that some recent claims are girls getting revenge, etc - but never one advocating rape, at least never a serious one.

- Calling an offensive name... nope I haven't, I believe the missoulian filters that

And actually while I'm posting this I've had a sale close today, presented 2 offers, and am listing 3 other homes. This business is highly based in technology and it allows me to multi-task and pull reports, make calls, do research, market, and network all while taking a few minutes out to put some posts together on egriz as well. I'm also covering for my wife's property management firm right now and handling a new tenant move-in, marketing a new rental available, and submitting a proposal for a new contract. And I'm doing that all today from my kitchen while my wife and my new 1 week old daughter snooze on the couch.

I've certainly seen worse on the Missoulian comment threads than what BW posted here. I've actually reported racist comments to the Missoulian mods -- who scrub that stuff an hour or two after it's posted.

If the point of the Missoulian article about egriz was point out bigger issues than profanity, those same "newsworthy" issues are all present in the Missoulian, too.

Jeez... give the comments on the article a read. It seems that she has very few supporters left in the Missoula community.

IMO, it looks like her days are numbered with the amount of negative publicity surrounding her articles.
