a.p.r. (playoff ban?)

So I looked up UM football's previous three APRs and this is what they got:

950 - 2009/10
948 - 2010/11
878 - 2011/12
??? - 2012/13

In order to get to the 930/four year average, UM needs a 944 APR in 2012-13. The 70-point decrease last year hurts a bit!

Wow. I might need to step away from the computer for a while. Either way, that is a big drop. Although if the past is any indicator, then last year was just a blip. Hopefully.

it probably has a lot to do with players getting trouble and quitting or being asked to leave. just hoping that we were gutted that year and that all the bad seeds were gone.

I suppose, but a lot of those "bad seeds" were likely on the team the year before that produced a 948 APR.

Did anyone find an answer as to whether student athletes coming back and finishing retroactively helps their class/year? I thought I had heard somewhere that it did, which makes sense if you think about it, as the goal seems to be that student athletes graduate...

Not an expert but the way I understand it is that a returning former player graduating can help the APR for that year.

If that's the case the UM may be in better shape and will get that 887 bumped up. During one fall scrimmage there were 4 or 5 guys from the 2011 team that were all back to finish up class work and finalize their degrees.

Maybe it's the holiday spirit but a player isn't a "bad seed" just because they are struggling at school. I lived in a dorm in 1985 with 35 other freshman, 5 of us got our degrees in four years, the other 31 took the extended plan or got sidetracked.
Remember half the people out there have below average intelligence.

I believe the national trend for graduation rates of all students are around 40% - 45%. College doesn't work for everyone, nor is it needed for everyone.

I think Alpha should have gone instead of going to charm school.

the 887 is set in stone. maybe the score for 2012-13 can still be affected. that score is usually known by now. i thought we had some insiders posting on here. guess not. :coffee:
