A not so flattering article on Idaho.

We still have the "Llittle Brown Stien" and have been holding on to it for a very long time. It was the mug that went with the winner of the football game each year. Idaho was a big hated rival before they left the league and followed Boise State. After that we have been trying to make a rival out of msu and that has not worked out so well.

It is a very easy road trip and fun to travel over and enjoy a game. Idaho needs to drop into the Big Sky and get some life back in their program.

Idaho's AD just received an extension on his contract to 2020. At least they will have some sort of stability through their transitional period.

Judging from some of your other posts , sounds like you broke that sucker out early U. Here's to you!

IT's Idaho. What could they POSSIBLY write that would be flattering?

Certainly can't claim "AzGrizFan: Distinguished Alumni" as a flattering fact.

Nope. I've wiped the slate clean of any reference to that cow college. :D

That is just a really sad read about a pathetically sad situation.

In effect the U of Idaho is bragging about how they don't suck the worst in the worst conference in the country. Or at least, they're saying they don't suck the worst in the worst conference in the nation EVERY year.

Also note they had a very high pass completion rate as they lost 2 out of every 3 games they played (that is something, not much, but it is something).

Although it's not mentioned they probably print very nice game day programs. Or, maybe their goal posts are among the most sanitary in the country (as their players rarely get near them). It's possible too that their scoreboard is considered energy efficient as they've been able to use the same light bulbs on the "HOME" side for 20 years. No doubt there is much to be proud of if only one digs deep enough. Go Vandals!

Well, to be fair, there are 9 or 10 BSC schools who make this argument every year as well, in a conference which is worse and less relevant than Idaho's.

Hahaha. They did excellent job of pointing out how much their programs sucks.

Some highlights:
• Moscow Airport is undergoing $100 million transformation. In the future teams can fly directly in to Moscow.
• fewest penalty yards per game (42.67, 22nd nationally)
• Idaho football exciting, high-scoring
• USA Today: Kibbie Dome a top-10 football environment
• Positive human interest coverage

Year Won Loss Conference
2015 4 8 Sun Belt
2014 1 11 Sun Belt
2013 1 11 Independent
2012 1 11 WAC
2011 2 10 WAC
Conference stability has improved our performance!

Top 10 where? In the state of Idaho?

Top 10 in the city of Moscow... :thumb:

Actually top ten on Perimeter Dr. There are still four pot holes and a broken gutter ahead of it. But when the patching truck broke down this fall, it moved into the top ten.

0% chance the bigsky would turn them down. Idaho could come in right now an compete for 4th-8th in the big sky. S

I think they would be a top 3 program in the BSC.

No. They would not only lose scholarships, but because of the unusual circumstances, the NCAA would let the athletes transfer FBS to FBS without sitting out a year.

Whatever was left after that gut punch is what the Big Sky Conference Idaho Vandals would be. Not to mention the lost revenue from dropping off the bodybag game curcuit.

Montana, Eastern, Montana State, Cal Poly, S. Utah and Portland State and NAU are all better than the Vandals now.

I think it'd be kind of fun to have the Vandals back in the Big Sky again. Used to have some great games with them back in the day.
I agree. I always considered Idaho to be the greatest rival to UM. Idaho was to Montana as Montana is to MSU...it would be great to have Idaho return to the BSC in every sport.

Hahaha, that's hilarious. I grew up not liking Idaho more than MSU in the late 80's and 90's. Love this kind of news.
I think it was their last game at WaGriz when their fans were seated where the students are now and their fans were chanting "IDAHO" to which we responded "UDAHO".

It would be great to have Idaho back in the Big Sky. Montana would have three easy travel games. I'd like to see the Griz play Washington State every other year.

New Mexico State's reason they should stay is interesting: HD telecasts with Ad revenue sharing with visiting teams.

Pure speculation. SUU and PSU had a good year, but are not consistently good. NAU is consistently second tier. Idaho is better than the current MSU program. It can be just as easily speculated that they would be right there with UM, EWU and CPSLO.
