A New Age Approach to the Portal....

I've seen and been to many of them. I don't find them to be a recruiting tool at all.
Because you’re not a 16-19 year old potential recruit. Just like all the old guys who say they don’t like all the weekly changes in uniforms…they are not marketing to them. They only care what potential student athletes think.

Nope. Has little or nothing to do with my age. I have had 4 kids recruited for college sports, as well as a half dozen nephews and nieces. How many of your kids have been recruited for college sports? Are you a 16-19 year old?

Don't bother, this ding bat got confused and thinks everyone was talking about the recruiting class lunches they do in February, not the videos being talked about above.

Yes and no. You should inform the UM Athletic Department that their attempted marketing efforts with the “The Montana Way” are a waste of time.

Do you think it's ok for a coach to get in a player's face and yell "fuck you" multiple times in front of 26k+ people and whoever else might be watching on tv?
I was a player and yes its acceptable. Its no different than me or one of my friends telling each other to fuck off in a heated moment then having a drink together when we calm down. Emotions happen, if you take that out of the game why play?

Boy, I think we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

As unfortunate as the state of college football may be, is this the new manner in which these kids expect to be treated? With Bobby being almost the complete opposite, authoritarian-style leader, could it be a glimpse into the reasoning behind our recruiting struggles? I'm a simultaneous believer and skeptic in Bobby, at the moment, and seeing this simply has me thinking. I'm curious what others might think.

The ASU coach has the right approach to this era of transfer portal situations. If a player either wants to try for a new team they feel can be better for them. . .for whatever reason it could possibly be. . .it is wise to help them navigate that as a coach and a program. If you build a culture and have a program that is always the best option, you will keep more then you lose. Sometimes guys just have life change situations that require them to need to make a change, as well. I think, as fans, we need to embrace each player and their unique situations. Oftentimes, there is a very solid reason for them to need or want to transfer. We should be slow to judge. If they are. . .or were. . .great players for our school, we can thank them, support their decision, and move on. It is rarely a lack of loyalty or character, I have learned. It is often a much more logical decision that may be very difficult for the player to make, but they do because it is ultimately best for them. We ought to respect that they now have an environment to be able to make adult decisions that could be what they feel is best for them and their future. The teams and coaches they wind up leaving should not harbor resentment or feel slighted at all. A better approach would be to find out from the player why they chose to leave and be happy for them. . .or at least supportive. Chances are, all those involved will learn something profound or important in the process. Teams just need to get used to rebuilding and support those who leave along with supporting the next man up.

That is fine. There are guys on the team that agree with you. I am just not one of them. Its just words and they only mean anything if you give them power. I choose to take the power away and not let it bother me
