To bad you poor griz basketball fans can not find a great basketball coach, that is also a Montana native like the CATS. Mick Durham is hands down the best coach in the state and always will be, the things he did with that team last year was incredible. With a great recruiting class coming in look out! Also if you think coach Rice at Gonzaga is the answer think again, do you think he is a guy that plans on spending many years in that dump? To bad their is not another Mick Durham foe you guys to hire, hang in their someday you might have some luck with a coach.
 
I agree, Durham did great things for the Cats this year was incredible. The Cat's missed the tournament.
 
I'm a die-hard Bobcat fan, but you can't possibly be serious about Mick. He did do a great job coaching last year's team, but "coaching" involves more than just... coaching. If he hadn't depleted the cupboard to the point of being thinner than a slice of bread, we might have just done pretty well last year. A coach not only has to coach his players, he has to recruit, deal with a budget, and raise money. From my point of view, Mick does only one of those things well on a consistent basis.
 
I'm loving these new "Cat fan in Havre" posts. This kid is a riot. Keep it coming, junior. You bet, Mick Durham's got us right where he wants us, isn't that right? :lol:

Thats interesting, I think most people, cat and griz fans alike will tell you that Robin Selvig is the best coach in Montana HANDS DOWN, and always will be. ;)

As for the having luck with a coach. Humm, well lets see, Heathcoat, Montgomery, Morrill, Selvig. well I think we have had our fair share of "Luck"
 
Well said. And as great as the recruiting class may be, it is hard to say that a coach did great when the team did not make the playoffs when other teams with losing records did.
 
Looks like CAT FAN doesn't have much more to stand on now that we've got a great coach coming in whose also a Montana native.

Cats and Mick Durham have clean program, what about the Griz???????

I like Mick, and think it's great that he's been at MSU so long. I especially like his record against the Grizzlies, which I believe is something like 11-19.

I think it's funny that you would try to imply bad things about the Griz program, when Mick is the coach who had to forfeit several games for an NCAA violation in the 93-94 season.
