A Minor Set back for Marc Mariani?

I am a little disappointed, the Titans drafted a WR, Kendall Wright. Then again, if it is open competition for playing time, I believe Marc Mariani is capable of being in the top 3 or 4 WR rotation.

Same old, same old. The Titans use a #1 draft pick to get another WR. It's never a "level playing field" when they do that -- with all that $$$ and the coaches' talent-picking reps on the line, the top draft automatically gets more playing time. I'm afraid it's more than a "minor setback" for Marc.

Life is not fair, but we can hope for the best.

Have to agree.

He needs game time. As a WR, he doesn't have the all-out speed and flashy moves to look his best on the practice field, where everyone know all the plays. He just knows how to get open, and then has that sneaky burst and effective evasion we all remember.
 
There could be a move with Titans WR Kenny Britt who though talented has had some off-field issues and is injury prone.

True. Even the "experts" on the TV coverage said Brett seems to have "durability" issues on the field.
 
A lot of hate going on for MM on the Titan board. Seems like the poll is close, but the comments are a bit out of hand. Think they've forgotten about those 3 td returns so far. Despite the comments, the Titans in fact have not utilized Marc much in the WR position.

I'm not familiar with the Rams, and who their return man is but I bet Fisher will inquire about MM's availability at some point if thats a position they need filled.

The thing I don't like about the Titans' fans is that MM really had not been given a legit chance at WR, even by Fisher. Yes, his kick returns have been thrown away by the new rule but I wouldn't mind to see him traded to a team that will give him a real chance to see the field

Seattle, Miami, Minnesota, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Carolina, anywhere, but Dallas, that will give him a shot to play. :thumb:
 
Similar situation for Armanti at Carolina. The Panthers took another WR, so more competition for our favorite son. This is a make or break year for AE. As a rookie, John Fox didn't even give him a sniff. Last year he did all the punt returns for Carolina but wasn't that spectacular. This is the last year of his current contract, so hopefully he can compete with these SEC WRs and keep his job.
 
Looks like the Titans just signed 2 more undrafted free agents....both wide receivers. Not good.
 
A little receiver named Wes Welker wasn't given a chance at San Diego or Miami. Great punt returner who turned out all right. Marc Mariani will get his shot!

Cream rises and that is all that matters to the big boys. Edwards is an incredible athlete, I doubt there are many teams that don't know this so I bet he will end up somewhere. Good luck to him.
