I like McMillan a lot. Not only is he a good young coach, he comes from a mid-major, Samford, so he understands what another mid-major like Montana is up against--the lack of what he calls the "power game."
Yes, the three-ball is the great equalizer, and when we get hot like Money did, we have a shot against almost anybody. So to overcome it he relied on those big mobile inside power guys, the type that Montana simply can't seem to recruit.
Once again, we just signed three real good high-character kids but all in the 6'2" to 6'4" range, all guards. We need to find one or two of those 6'9" or taller gazelles that the Power Four conferences seems to come up with two and three deep.
The Power Game.
By the way, McMillan noted that there were NBA scouts there, likely to watch Money. But while he's rising to second-round status in my opinion, he's still not listed among the Top 100 NBA prospects as recently listed by ESPN.
