A Grizzly Curtain of Distraction??

Well, I'm a blue hair (and an original Zoo member... class of 74)...
I'm also a blue hair, and in that era I was also a blue hair, for about two weeks.

UM is a bit unique. I do think the biggest problem here is the nearly two-month long winter break.
This is the problem. I've said it before and I'll say it again...As a student I have zero problem with us not having the whole sideline. There's way too many nights where the baseline student section doesn't remotely fill up and those who do come just sit there and talk and ignore the game once they arrive. I don't believe that moving people around will just magically spark all the student interest again. When we start filling it up and caring every single game, not just for the tournaments, this can be a discussion. Honestly I would be embarrassed if we tried to have a "curtain of distraction" or anything like that at a lot of games. With all the empty seats it just comes off as desperate.

However on a positive note, I have been pleasantly surprised with a small but slightly growing group in the lower right near the band that keep up on their feet and keep loud most games. There was a little gap during the huge winter break, but during classes they have been great!

Speaking of the band and students in that area, the tall blonde haired guy in the pep band is awesome in trying to make it rowdy. He has a deep voice and says a lot of strange things when opponents are shooting ft's I wish more of the student body and crowd would follow and take a queue from him. He understands and knows the importance of a rowdy student section and crowd participation. :thumb: :thumb:
