CV, no, I didn't say they always get it right, I said their opinion on talent means more to me than Egrizzers does. That's all. If you believe you're a better evaluator of talent than Beau Baldwin is, by all means, e-mail him and tell him who not to choose from the Griz for all conference. I'll give you his e-mail addy if you want it.

Honestly, if the Griz were 7-1, no one but Alpha and Growler would be arguing about my statement about the talent on this football team. People are just butt hurt that the team hasn't met their personal expectations. I don't like it either, but I don't let it ruin my life nor cloud my judgement. The All-Conference list isn't a team award, it's an individual honor. Some of the best players in college football play on some bad teams every year. The Griz are no exception to that.
Honestly the Griz could never be 7-1 with the talent we have and that's really sad considering we play in the BSC.

Pretty funny considering how close we are to 6-2.
Actually it's pretty sad because we play in the BSC................that's how far we have fallen. Notice we are barely competitive in a below .500 conference.

Let that sink in before you fill your half full glass.

Exactly.

The problem isn't so much a general lack of talent, it is the dearth of talent at key positions, ie: offensive line, quarterback and running back.

Talented players on Offense: Jones, Henderson and Roberts

Talented players on Defense: Kidder, Holmes, Van Ackeren

Honorable Mention: Kose

Bingo!

Might sneak Calhoun on the list, but it's a little early.

With all said I'd be curious to know if the players and some of the hold over coaches have actually bought into Stiit's stuff. At this point I'm not convinced they have but I'm not in Missoula so can't really get read on this. Watching psu and the players rally around the coach I don't see that from our sidelines. Pretty hard to have crucible leadership when the rank and file aren't on board. I really don't know if that's the case but a certain amount of conviction and excitement is lacking. Best example is the slow starts we have. Just don't seem ready.

Every game from here on out is a playoff game. It's that simple. Win out...that's the only way. Go GRIZ!

I'm with Hammer on this one.

The fact that you two are holding on to the speech means in the back of your mind you might need one. That suggests that deep inside you are not happy with where the team is right now under him otherwise there would be no speech even being thought of, just willing to give a more time to see if things change...I remember you two having negative thoughts of his hiring...so must bee creeping in.....just saying

I thought was a good hire at the time, but my thoughts are just creeping in at a faster rate. I was optimistic....now the glass half full is leaking through the realism hole.

Nope. There's been nary a single negative thought I've had. By saying "I'm with Hammer" all I'm saying is I'm withholding judgment on Stitt until he's had a true chance to prove himself. I RAILED on Pflu in his first year and he proved me and all the other naysayers wrong in year two. I promised myself I wasn't going to make that same mistake with Stitt. In fact, I am on the record (on this site) as saying that, given the level of difficulty in this year's OOC schedule there was a very good chance this team opened up 0-3...and 4-4 was exactly where I thought we'd be after 8 games---granted I'm disappointed because we are THIS close to being 6-2 (at which point I'd be ECSTATIC) but it 'tis what it 'tis....I'm fine. No speech in my back pocket waiting to be whipped out....

All Big Sky is All Big Sky. Only #egrizlogic says honorable mention shouldn't count lmao. Like I said, it's voted on by the coaches.

My list for locks, not in order are: Jones, Henderson, Roberts, Nyguen, Reese, Holmes, KVA, Kose, Gamboa, Kidder, Harris, Yamen Sanders and Whitted. Never thought about Lider. That brings me to 14.

Holmes and KVA are lockes for All-American. Holmes is a First-Team All-American. I think Jamaal Jones will also get some AA honors as well.

Montana Grizzly fans have been fortunate to have watched so many excellent safeties (in no particular order Tim Hauck, Todd Ericson, Blaine McElmurry, Josh Remington, Vince Huntsberger, Eric Stoll, Jimmy Wilson, Shann Schillinger, Colt Anderson, Trey Young, Greg Anderson, Sean Dorris, etc) that we are somewhat spoiled. I am hoping for better safety play in the remaining games in 2015, as specifically evidenced by the high number of times that UM's defense gives up a trick play /long pass /long run.

The trick plays are annoying for sure, but we are first in the conference (and I think 10th in the nation) in pass defense. And I don't think you can give all the credit to the corners and pass rush on that.

Nope. I did no such thing. :P

Did not say 100% of credit goes to corners and pass rush. I can see your point but I respectfully disagree. We're currently first in pass defense but look who we play in the next three weeks.

The pass D ranking is probably more of a function of the poor run D ranking..... Why pass against the Griz?

Hint: Cal Poly and PSU games....

I agree with havgrizfan on this one and not just because his town is step one in the best three town drive from Montana to my province of Saskatchewan. Havre/Turner/Climax!!!! Check a map, that just happened!!!

Don't forget Harlem. They do that in Harlem. ;)

After a beer or two in Havre, I will admit to pulling over to give it the old "Harlem shake"

IMO.... RIGHT ON..... :thumb: Personally, I believe this to be the most overlooked, under discussed, relevant subject on Stitt and the Griz this year. I don't recall any Griz team as long as I have been watching them, that EVER started any slower on offense than this one.

PSU is 7-1. It's easy to "rally around the coach" when you're experiencing that kind of success. And you've apparently only been watching the Griz since last year then, if you've already forgotten 2013.
