Griz thumped MSU in the final game.
Won't happen since SDSU is undefeated, yet a case could be made for it.

I was thinking the same thing. It will go down to strength of schedule and momentum going into the playoffs. I don’t know that one can argue against SDSU being 1 though. And honestly it doesn’t matter as long as we are in at #2. The higher seed puts a bigger target on your back.

You know what COULD happen? USD could get the 2 seed, pushing the Griz to #3. They have one more loss than the Griz but it was to FBS #11 Missouri. Their only FCS loss was to SDSU, and they also have a stronger SOS. The committee could see that as a stronger resume than Montana and they would have a point.

That could happen, but I don’t think it will. They got absolutely curb stomped by SDSU. Same as the Cats yesterday. Griz just beat the #4 team in the nation. Beat them handily. Beat Idaho, Sac State and Davis. All ranked at the time. Two of them on the road. Deserving of the ranking? Maybe not, but same could be said for MVC teams. Cats played SDSU better than anyone this year. Granted it was the first game. Griz just pounded the cats. My point? The committee would be showing favoritism towards the MVC by not putting the Griz at #2. Money and attendance might also factor into the equation. Wa Griz - enough said.

Yeah I forgot how badly they lost to SDSU at home. Once I went back and looked at the score and location it changed the picture.
