LK graduated from Big Sky in 83 I believe, if not it was 82, definitely not 1981.

The more I think about it, I'm sure LK graduated in 1982.

You have it right. I graduated in 1982 with Moe and Persia and remember LK at Big Sky quite well.

Daren Engellant (Gardiner, class C- is that correct?)

Engellant was Geraldine - home of the Tigers. Glad he was only like a first grader when we had them on our conference schedule.....

How about K.C. McGowan? C'mon....he was Griz (via Big Sky)

The one team match-up(s) I'll always think about regarding '80's BBall.....Butte Central vs. Livingston

BC - Tom Kinney and Marc Murphy
Liv - Shan Ferch

I think in one of the match-ups for the state title, Ferch had around 47 against Kinney's 42. Great high school ball players!!!

Missoula Sentinel had some great talent in Kim Doss, Matt Doss, and Mike Doss on their 1987 team. Very good along with Matt Sheridan (?) as the big guy. Luoma's team was tough but fell to a good Billings Senior team in the championship. They had Klinkosh, Briceno, and Soft.

But those Doss' (I think 2 brothers and a cousin) were outstanding. I believe that 2 of them were Ulysses Doss' kids.

That 87 team was the second best in town that year. Big Sky won the Western AA with Pat Pramenko, Aaron Artlege and Thad Huse as the muscle inside

It was a good semifinal game in 1987 between Senior and Big Sky. If I remember right, Briceno (who'd shot terrible all game) hit a jumper at the end. I think the final was about 54-52.

For me this is not even close, Larry Krystkowiak. It is hard to argue for any other player. Look at everything he accomplished compared to any other player from Montana period. I am sure someone will try making an arguement otherwise. Let me say in advance, I am sticking to LK on this one and will not even debate it.

So do you by chance know who broke most of LK records at big sky and played a half a season less there

I was gone from 89 to 2000. My judgement is based on what he did at the U of M followed by his pro career. For me, that speaks volumes very loudly.

I agree but a guy by the name of Matt rogers ......averaged right near 32 points agame his senior year ..awesome ball player but dropped out of school the day after leading big sky to their one and only state championship

Too bad another player did not have his talent. I guarantee it, had I been blessed with that kind of game, I would have played 4 years of 1A ball. What did he end up doing?

Kinda reminds me of a wrestler from Butte High in the early 90's. Tom Gordon dominated his weight class his freshman year, but fell just short of a state title. His sophmore year he won state easily, but that was the last time he ever wrestled. He had tremendous talent and a very bright future in wrestling, and probably a free college education. Claimed he won state and that was all he wanted to do. Go figure.

Matt was a fine player, but honestly, he couldn't have carried Krysko's jock.

shows how much you really know backer matt was six inches shorter I beleibve he had a 42 inch vertical and if remember what he told me correctly he turned down 27 scholarship offers not sure what schools I do know gonzaga was one of them

That is total BS. If he had a 42 vertical he never used it. By the way, Gonzaga sucked then, look it up. I watched both of them play. The difference is, Kryso did it, all Rogers did was the " I could have been great" routine. So don't lecture me about all the schollies he had, because talk is just that, talk. Krysko was dominant, was the BSC MVP 3 times, and Academic All American , then had a damn nice NBA career until he had the freak injury. He accomplished all that despite the family hardships and being raised by Bernie.

One more thing, colleges don't offer dropouts scholarships. duh

I would say playing half season less and taking his rebounding record scoring record etc is definately worthy of talking about not to mention scholarships are offered well before your out of highschool and I saw several of his letters from them before he dropped out and afterwards he didnt have 6'10 height but he did school the players that had that height

It doesn't change the FACY Krysko did it, he didn't. It isn't LK's fault he didn't take advantage of the athletic ability he had. I watched him play and he had plenty of talent, no question, but he wasted it, so any arguement about his being better than LK is a joke.
