Go back a few years on egriz and you will find a lot on this subject.

I played against Plains in the 80's, and followed them through the mid 90's. There are many names for that program that belong. Royce and Maury Johnston, Rory and Renie Hellickson, Bill Pilgram, Von Heeders, Shane and Doug Browning, Willet, Mark Wachsmuth, Carl Olson. The list can go on for awhile, but those are the names I thought of off the top of my head, and I know there will be other names added to this list. Those Plains' teams were the funnest and arguably the best in the state at any classification.

Also Noxon had the Weltz brothers. Early 80's, Thompson Falls had the Dysktras Ferkovich's,and Gambrels. Troy had McElmurry (sp?), Eureka had the Haidles (sp?) and Newman, Big Fork Auer, Fraley,Fitzpatrick, and names I cannot remember (but I do remember they were loaded too). Corvallis Wetzel and Seed. Thompson Falls also had some pretty good teams in the late 80's/early 90's. Mike Baxter and John Dudley were quite a combination then.

It is hard to believe the Class B and C schools had that much talent then. I know there is/was a boat load of names I forgot

Wow Kenley graves. I haven't heard that name for awhile. I remember so wicked 400 m races against that kid back in the day.
