Griz til I die said:I’m not thrilled about the week 1 bye week, but 8 regular season home games? Wow! That’s a once in a generational opportunity! We may never see that ever again. I’ll gladly play a D2 team if it means 8 home games
Fan fatigue could take a couple forms. The obvious one, just forcing choices of which of the eight to attend. Less obvious is the cost of season tickets. For the 7 game schedule this year my season tickets went up to $700 each. So I suspect next year for the 8 game schedule, they will be at least $800 each. Could price some season ticket holders out.GrizTexas said:Going to be interesting to see if fan fatigue sets in...8 home regular season games is a lot of travel and expense for the folks who drive hundreds of miles to attend games. Sometimes too much of a good thing isn't the answer. And before anyone jumps my $hit I get that home games are a cash cow that drives the budget, more curious on how people will react to the heightened travel schedule....
They may wanna consider finding a game in the middle of the season (maybe the Sacred Heart game) where they just sit all the starters and let the backups play. Similar to what some NFL teams do the final week of the regular season when they got nothing to play forBozAngelesGriz said:Griz til I die said:I’m not thrilled about the week 1 bye week, but 8 regular season home games? That’s concerning to me as well. More worried about team fatigue than fan fatigue. That stretch of games after Sacred Heart could be a brutal gauntlet.

That is because UM's official bye is the very first week of the season. UM's 1st game of the 2025 season is week 2 of the 2025 college football season.1981Griz said:I don't see a bye week for 2025. That could be an issue for recovery, injury recovery, and burn-out.

He's talking about the 2025 schedule when we play Sacred Heart University on October 18th. We don't play UNCO that season.ElrodGrizzly said:Griz til I die said:They may wanna consider finding a game in the middle of the season (maybe the Sacred Heart game) where they just sit all the starters and let the backups play. You're making a joke that is just going over my head and its bothering me that I can't figure it out. I'm assuming you are calling NoColorado "Sacred Heart"? What's the reference?

1 season of paying the extra game isn’t a giant issue. Season 2 bigger deal. Biggest deal is that is potentially 3 games they could have used for the first 1/2 of home and away (as an away) to get cash now. When the complain about nobody wants to play here or home and homes are hard to schedule etc, remember they had 1 game I. 24 and 2 in25 to give away for future marque games that people would pay a premium for and they chose instant cash.kemajic said:Fan fatigue could take a couple forms. It’s called cashing in. High risk high reward short term strategy What happens when they go back to 6 home games with less that star quality opponents? Will fans still pay the extra ticket price?
