UM hasn't had a QB with his skill in a looooong time. Smart, NFL arm strength/accuracy/touch, 6'7", good pocket awareness, fluid in his footwork, and pretty damn quick. Did I miss anything?

What a luxury to have him quietly waiting behind JJohnson. But...Montana doesn't rebuild, Montana reloads. Damn right! Lets go!

But but but...didn't some egrizperts predict him transferring to Rocky because he isn't that good?

I remember posts saying that he was a good as gone after the Stitt hire. Maybe it was people who had inside info that they couldn't share, but nonetheless wanted everyone to know that they had inside info . . . that they couldn't share.

I'm with ya on that one CDA. Really enjoy the special features too. The 95 team story recently is a fun one. Also for Ellis' article, Ellis had to have a lot of confidence in him that his story would be handled with care; that in and of itself speaks volumes.

Hope I'm wrong, but the Joey and Chase thing may already be over. Sad.

I heard that Joey had a minor ankle sprain and he will be back soon.

I hope that turns out to be the case. Because he had 1 rush in the first scrimmage and then sat out the rest of it with his shoe off. A minor ankle sprain is a sure possibility. But he did have foot surgery last year in Texas, I hope that old injury has nothing to do with his sitting out currently.

I stopped saying that after the first game of the 2010 season. By way of analogy, the Griz were. 45 cal. Long Colt. They have atrophied to. 38 Special. Respectable, but far from what they were.

Pretty obvious Jones and Gustafson put in some hours this summer. Those two are in sync.

Special teams HAS to improve. The amount of muffed and/or lost punts is scary. Two missed extra points?? That's terrible. Great teams are disciplined in special teams and treat every punt or kickoff as an opportunity to score or create turnovers. Not treat it as a formality before the offense or defense takes the field. It comes with practice and repetition. The coaches have to act like it matters. Because it does.

Will UM avoid another first game, big environment special teams let down?
* 2014 @ Wyoming - Griz leading 6-3, blocked punt sets up WYO 1st and goal.

* 2012 @ App State - Naccarato fumbles kickoff, sets up AppSt 1st and goal, AppSt takes 21-7 lead. 4th quarter, Lider misses extra point after Dan Moore's incredible 90 yard touchdown run. AppSt keeps lead 28-27. AppSt scores on their next series to go up 8. Griz forced to go hurry up with 5 minutes left. Game over.

* 2011 @ Tennessee - Griz D has a dominate opening series and forces a quick 3 and out. Tennessee punts, Nguyen fumbles, Tenn recovers. Tenn starts next series with an 80 yard flea flicker touchdown. Game over.

AJ's article today had the following:

Henderson also dropped a punt in last week's scrimmage, believe. Yet, Alpha remains silent, other than to dish a Nguyen again. My recollection is that Nguyen had zero, or maybe one, lost fumbles last season. What a hypocrite.

You just can't accept that you were wrong about the Nguyens, and that you lied about them frequently. Yes, Peter had a bad couple games his first or second year, but then you just had to do your lying thing and diss constantly. Just like Adams said, you are a hater. The nice thing is that most people on egriz, in the last couple years, now know how ridiculous you are and how often you lie, and most don't take you seriously. At least, you've found another team to root for.
