#7 Montana @ Cal Poly Game Thread

Dunno if we had enough time to run a play into the end zone.

Lots of things to like, but lots to dislike, as well. If we can contain the QB, we can win this.

This. Containing the backs on the option fairly well, however, Brown has nearly 100 yards at half.

Why do you not run a play to center the ball before that field goal?

To save time for a retry if the snap was bad. I like to see the staff place confidence in the kicker. Last year we would not have even tried. That said, it might be Liders turn next.

not sure I would call it confidence...

Not sure the confidence was well founded...

I would love to be watching this game, but the camera work (and I use that term VERY loosely) is so fucking awful that it's almost unwatchable. I don't think I"ve seen a single pass being caught, and very few of the tackles that have been made. It's like they've got 2 handheld cameras out there and gave them to middleschoolers and said "go film the football game. Hell, on our 2nd TD, the entire kickoff was missed while they panned the crowd.

Top that with these absolutely suck-ass Cal Poly announcers and I'm seriously considering just punting this game and going and doing something else. "Trevor" Van, mistook Van for canada, credited Tony Takai with a RUN instead of the tackle, criticizing Van's running style after he pops off about 9 yards on their D, and making Madden-like comments like "well that's why this crowd is here, Biff, they knew there was gonna be a FOOTBALL game!!"

It's like fingernails on a fucking chalkboard.

246 to 226 yards, to UM. UM averaging 8.8 per play, to CP's 5.4. 42 to 28 plays to CP. CP 5/8 in 3d down conversions, and the early 4th down pick up.

Brown has 98 yards on 9 carries. UM needs to solve that problem. Good think he's not accurate on his passes. Did the CP fullback, 31, come back in after he got hit hard and seemed to hurt his shoulder or back. 182 yards rushing for them already.

JJ is 8-12 for 128 and 2 TD's. Great throw by Burke.

We needed that FB. Damn. Too bad Van Ackeren is out. Receivers are making amazing catches, except for the easy drop. Jones, Burke, Jansen, Haynes and Saylor. JJ looking sharp.

I think UM can run and throw on them, and move the ball. Hope the D doesn't wear down.

Did or has Van Ack made it back into the game? Saw him go out and not sure if he's returned.

Out and I am guessing for the game. He looked pretty rattled initially but showed him on the bench and he seemed to be in good spirits but likely taking no chances with getting his noggin knocked.

He's out. Went out at halftime without his helmet. Must have a head/concussion issue. Looks fine tho. Go Strahn, 29.

JJ looks like he has some swagger. :thumb: Van seems to have figured out at week 8 that north and south may be the way after all. Byers hasn't called us Mt. State yet...and what made any of us think this field goal attempt would work out :?: However, we can win this... :egriz:

He is done for the game, damn.

not sure, but I think america one has its own camera "crews" I've seen some of the gamecasts that do those horrific camera cuts that make no sense... when all they have to do is stay on the longshot sideline cam. It is a disgrace to have someone do a job, when they don't know wtf they are doing.

That worries me too. Still, while it looked like the 'Stangs were grinding out the clock, and therefore badly wearing down the D, it actually was not that bad for TOP: 13:49 for the Griz, 16:11 for CP. Not great, but not as bad at it seemed.
