#7 Montana @ Cal Poly Game Thread

Freakin joke. I got bashed for saying our last win was UCD for the year. This loss worse than I expected.
It best we do not make the playoffs. Making coaching changes.
The W family is set to donate 7 million to UM. A stipulation it if I was a W donor. Make a serious coaching change and quick.
If anyone thinks Delaney can get this team to a NCgame your fooling yourself.

This staff has to go. Time for everyone to admit that. Enough with people trying to defend these folks as coaches because they are good people.

ug... that play of the game - one can say the game turned on its head when hermanson missed the pick and the receiver went for 50, but really it started with the kick-off out of bounds to start the 2nd half. 3 phases all have to be good. D is generally awesome, O is average at best, special teams is really lacking. That opening set up a terrible 2nd half

I think this goes deeper than just play calling.

Well it all starts with the offensive line... Which is obviously horrible. The play calling is emphasized because our coaches seem to be the only ones dumb enough to keep trying to power run when our oline gets beat off the ball almost every snap

This game was about execution, not coaching. Much like the NDSU game, the opposition doesn't do anything fancy, they do simple things and execute them to perfection.

The season is not over. It would have been great to win this game, but o-well. We pick ourselves up, dust off, and focus for Sac State. It is still entirely reasonable to think that we could win out. That would put us at 8-3 with big wins over MSU and EWU. I haven't given up, the GRIZ sure as hell won't, and neither should GRIZ nation.

GO GRIZ. Bring on Sac State.

Do you actually believe we have a staff that can call a good enough game to beat both MSU and EWU? I have not lost faith in the players. That is as polite as I can put it. :thumb:

because JJ doesn't get crushed every time he drops to pass?

A bit worrisome. This is the first very good (top 20) offense we've faced this year. We have 3 more on the schedule (Sac, MSU, EWU). SUU is no slouch either passing at least.

Through 3 quarters we've given up 410 total yards and 303 on the ground. Maybe our run D wasn't quite as good as we thought it was. We'll get to see how good our pass D is the next few games. Disappointing to see our O stalling big time again after looking good in the 2nd quarter. Griz O is doing the D no favors this half. What are we at, like 20 or 30 total yards this half so far?

Well so much for making the best of an EWU loss. This one is ovuhhh....ugh.

You do realize that a win by NAU hurts the griz. Having NAU with one loss muddies the waters.. no separation

They don't need to play him any more. Its mop up time now.

There was 6 and a half left and they're only up 13. I don't think I'd pull him against you guys so soon.
Go F... Yourself Troll... :egriz:

Go f*** your own self dude. I was being genuine. Patch up your ass.
Yeah...right. You show up on our board at the end of tough loss...  Go jerk it on the  Scat board...troll c**t fan 22... :egriz:

This game certainly put the emphasis on what UM needs: A kicker, more speed, and special teams...That assumes the coaches can come up with a game plan that is not based upon the long pass into double coverage.

Give Cal Poly some credit here folks, they played a hell of a game, and didn't change a single thing. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.........

After seeing their defenses.... Hell yes. I'm also very interested to see how our pass rush looks against pass heavy teams. All losses so far have been against teams that usually rush the ball, and when they do pass, they get rid of quick. I feel like the D-line is gonna have a good game against Sac State, EWU, and MSU.

I have faith in both the coaches and the players. GO GRIZ.

Poly offense is great. Their defense is not as good as the GRIZ offense made them look.
And, the Griz D is not what we thought it was.....

Griz defensive statistics has been inflated by below average opponent offenses.

I have nothing better to do than stir the pot on an opposing team's board. Oh, and I have balls on my chin

No shit

Well, I admire your enthusiasm but unless something drastic happens between now and next week, I think you are going to be disappointed. I hope you are right...But, as someone pointed out here, UM has not won over a strong team in over 2 years and struggles against the bottom of the Big Sky more often than not.

They ran QB draw and QB keep after the dive fake again and again. We never had a spy even after how evident it was in the first half.

Even after our last score we still didn't clog the middle and they ran the dive and QB keep over and over down the field for a TD. Why would they even consider running wide at that point. Yet still no adjustment.

Here's what genuinely puzzles me ... really.

How can a coaching staff seem utterly incapable of making halftime adjustments to (1) shore up weak points, (2) emphasize and exploit things that were going well in the first half, and (3) motivate the team to show up in the third quarter? Now, I suppose it's possible that it's the team's inability to execute some wonderful plans concocted by the staff (but somehow I doubt it).

Yes, I'm well aware that the other team makes adjustments too. So then why do their adjustments seem to work so well and ours are absolute s**t?

This team shows flashes of good (even great),and periods of bad ... and they come and go, seemingly at random. But the one consistent deficiency, it seems to me, over last year and this, has been the abysmal performance coming out of the half.

I suppose the real question is: If this perception is accurate (and I think it is) ... can it be fixed without a major overhaul?
