Not trying to start the age old in-state/out-of-state pissing match, but it is interesting that all 9 UM/MSU players who will be attending camps are out-of-state players.

Interesting observation. This phenomenon is uncommon for the Griz...what with Anderson, Harris, Mariani, Reynolds, Hilliard, Carpenter, Biermann all in-state players within the past 4-5 years. Granted there's also Wilson, Horn, etc from out of stte but our in-state #'s are much higher historically. Honestly don't know about 'scat players....will be interesting to watch if this is a trend or an anomaly. :|

So much for that ex-forestry bozo ( and others of his his ilk) - who had a letter in the Missoulian months back stating that the Griz should limit their recruiting efforts to home boys. If Washington and Oregon, with considerably more in-state kids to choose from, have to look beyond their borders for D1 talent it's a lead pipe cinch there's no way the Griz would ever be competitive with anybody without doing the same.

My question is: No FCS team had close to as many NFL caliber players in 2011 as the Griz. Given that fact, did the 2011 Griz under-achieve?

No. Winning 4 straight games against FCS playoff teams is hard, and requires some luck too. Not to mention we don't know how many NFL players from those SHSU and NDSU squads may end up in camps in the next few years

If winning titles was based purely on talent, the NY Yankees would win the world series every stinkin' year.

Thank you for that post. I cannot stand the Yankees. I will love to think of them as the most underachieving team, every year they don't win it. :thumb:
