63 Scholarships and Other Aid?

Settle down, I'm just trying to confirm a rumor i heard.
Pulling the scholly doesn't bother me one bit.
But you missed the point: its the nepotism issue, particularly when Jake is twice the player (IMHO, and if in fact this is all true)

From knowing a little about the process, coaches are highly unlikely to pull red shirt freshmen scholarships. Part of it is logic, because they haven't seen the field but also they are more than likely to target kids in the upper class seen as dead weight. The other part is that you wouldn't get kids here if you are pulling their scholarships without even the field. Sets a pretty bad example, even if it were warranted, and because how FCS parses scholarships I am not sure you want to cull that many kids per year anyway.

Could we have five Jr year safeties next season?
Justin Whitted, Zach Gratton, Jake Dallaserra, Herbert Gamboa, and Adam Debrucker

Thanks for the response 24; if i'm reading it correctly it sounds like the rumor might be true. I realize you probably did not intend this but to imply that JD is "dead weight" is crazy. he might have been our best ST tackler last year. The "bad example" being set is the nepotism issue, that's what the common fan sees and understands (not your explanation, which made good sense btw). I don't know what MD was thinking; he's damned if you does and damned if he don't

Nope, didn't imply that. Actually like what JD offered on ST's.

There is a structural issue at hand, that wasn't of Mick's doing, in that there is a backlog of safeties who basically were unable to define themselves in any role other than in mop up or back up role.

Outside of Hermanson and Whitted, who defined themselves over the past two years in bit roles that would have warranted more playing time.

Gamboa who of all of those kids is about the only one that stood to see the field more this year. Even at that, and here is the problem as I see it, he'll probably see more time at OLB than at SS.

Keep in mind it was posted on here last year that Mick's grandson was getting scholarship money to pay for books and nothing more. I don't think he was or is on any sort of scholarship where some of his tuition is covered.

Who cares? The kid doesn't deserve any sort of scholarship... MD is a dumbass that's all there is to it. JD>his shitty grandson or whatever he is. Kid shouldn't even be on the team.

Unless junior wows on the field this year, the same thing should happen to him next spring or MickyD will be setting another "bad example." My guess is junior will not make nearly the impact JD made. Hope I'm wrong.

Well, I'm sure the Delaney kid couldn't tackle Dan Moore, but then again, only the finest athlete could.
Damn straight son

There was one Griz safety recruit in fall camp 2012 that, after being "called out" by Dan Moore, lit him up like an "X-Mas Tree" in an Oklahoma drill. A huge scuffle occurred where Moore threw the football at the other player because he was so frustrated. Jordan Tripp had to breakup the encounter telling Moore to take his hit like a man and go sit down. No, it wasn't any current player.

I also remember a huge collision between Moore and Brock Coyle in a spring scrimmage a couple years ago that left Coyle flatbacked and without a helmet. Coyle was pissed and the two had to be separated after the play.

I remember when Dan Moore had troubles getting plus yardage against most teams.

Dan Moore's 2012 statistics:

76 carries, 418 yards, 5 yards lost. 5.4 ypc average. 2nd highest per game average of any of the RB's with over 20 carries.

Game 1: USD: 27 carries, 148 yards, 5.5 ave, ZERO lost yards (carries of 9, 3, 4, 3, 11, 7, 3, 6, 7, 0, 1, 1, 6, 3, 4, 6, 7, 14, 10, 0, 7, 1, 4, 5, 14, 6, 6
Game 2: ASU: 15 carries, 94 yards, 6.2 ave, ONE lost yard (carries of 14, 1, 16, 6, 1, 2, -1, 14, 18, 2, 2, 15, 3, 0, 0)
Game 3: Liberty: 16 carries, 92 yards, 5.8 ave, ZERO lost yards (1, 5, 32, 4, 13, 8, 0, 4, 1, 2, 1, 3, 9, 2, 3, 5)
Game 4: NAU: 12 carries, 74 yards, 6.2 ave, ZERO lost yards (1, 6, 11, 4, 12, 6, 2, 3, 1, 23, 2, 4)
Game 5: EWU: 4 carries, 25 yards, 6.0 ave, ONE lost yard (injured) (16, 7, -1, 2)
Game 6: MSU: 2 carries, 7 yards, 3.5 ave, ZERO lost yards

You wanna bitch about something, maybe complain about his fumbles at critical points in games...but bitching about him struggling to get "plus" yardage is just going full retard.
