If ndsu sends half as many players to the NFL off this team than that Marshall team did, I'll agree they're nearly as good. But it ain't gonna happen.

The 1996 Marshall team is the best FCS team ever.

yah I'm not debating that. I honestly dunno as I didn't see the 96 marshall team but what I can analyze is the scores and both Marshall and NDSU are blowing out their opponents equally but the difference I see was that Marshall went up against UM in the finals and beat us bad after UM had put up an incredibly impressive playoff performance prior to that game so what I can say is that Marshall not only beat, but demolished a 96 Griz team that was just clicking and probably any other year a ship team.

Although I just looked it up on espn and it appears as if NDSU only has 1 player on this years board watch...I dunno what that's about

Yes that is crazy, I remember when the Griz were undefeated when I was a student in the late '60's when NDSU beat the Grizzlies in the Camelia bowl (twice).

I have hated NDSU ever since. I will even root for a southern team or CAA team (both of which I dislike) over NDSU. Of course NDSU folks have to live in Fargo at some point in their lives(a**wipe of the West) so I think Griz fans come out ahead.

Pretty rough to compare 2013 NDSU to 1996 Marshall. Offensively, Marshall was much more explosive. People remember Moss and Kresser, but that offensive also had Doug Chapman at running back, who, WITH Moss, was a Payton award finalist that year. Marshall was extremely balanced actually, and pretty much impossible to stop because of it. That team also had a pair of offensive lineman who had lengthy NFL careers, as well as Billy Lyon on defense.

I'm not saying the Herd were better than NDSU is now, but for all of NDSU's firepower, I think Marshall may have had more.

Not crazy, it was expected. NDSU should of been IAA back in 80's, but donations and state funding held them back. NDSU UNI MONTANA MONTANA ST should all be in mountain west IMHO
