#5 Montana @ Wyoming Game Thread

That's the game.

Offense needs to improve a lot. Defense was better than I expected. Need to clear up taking bad angles to the ball, and more consistent tackling.

Announcers perplexed as well by time outs.! I watched some PSU v Beavs game as well today. PSU looked good in that game really. Bizon won of course today and MSU not looking bad against ASU. This has the makings of a long season.

Funny, the commentators are questioning the time out strategy or lack thereof .

Yup.

I have to question why the Griz decided to try to go back to the run on their last drive for the 1st play also. The hurry up short passing game had worked so well the last drive we just immediately lost a down and put ourselves in a big hole. Kind of odd play calling that last drive which led to us punting.

The Griz Defense looks 1/2 way there. They'll get better as the year goes on. I'm not too worried at this point.

Evidently the coaches DO NOT teach how to tackle anymore. Whats with this bump in the shoulder area or wrapping up around the shoulders???? What ever happened to tackling around the knees and ankles... The art of tackling has gone by the wayside.. damn...

Poor play calling and coaching... Offense really looks bad... Griz should have won this game going away... :thumb:

Why they call an inside run for Van on first down makes zero sense.

They guy is small and injury prone. Predictably he dances instead of hitting the hole. Loss of 8.

Why not keep going with the 2 minute offense that just got you a touchdown?

Or put in Canada when you call the runs between the tackles.

Lucky JJ is alive. A good FCS team would have destroyed Wyoming. This games shows you a team can have great skill players but if you can't control the trenches it won't matter.

A quote that has stuck with me is "there are not a lot of brains in football." Still, Delaney the past few years has done more dumb things I have ... Never... Seen... Before.

The Griz are so far behind last season it is unbelievable. Offense does not exist. Jordy looks like a freshman due to poor line play. Something has to change. Wyoming will finish last in there league. They are horrible.

Guys, we just lost to an FBS team by 5 points with a BRAND new O-line. Let's chill out a little. We'll get better as the year goes on. There were a lot of positives in this game.

Certainly not a fun game to watch. Mother nature added to that big time.

Defense looked good for the most part. Offense.....ouch. Poor line play, overthrown passes, dropped balls, very little run game, questionalble play calling. Special teams...more of the same.

I watched a lot of games today. NDSU and Northern Iowa looked very good against a lot better competition. We will improve and of course some of the competition will be a little easier. However, I expected a lot more from this team. Next week won't tell us much. Still not sold on this coaching staff and I'm very sorry to say that.

Insert playerep telling you why you've never played the game. Common douchenozzle tell us all how it should've been

I have a feeling this will be a long unpleasant 2 weeks on egriz.

Coaching staff really over thought things on that last possession. The offense had just moved the ball well for a TD in the hurry up. Yet they decide to run the ball on 1st down, and go with shorter plays. Did the staff forget the offense was also at their best last season in a hurry up offense?

I really don't understand this staff at times.

On a positive note. The defense played well after the 1st Wyoming possession, up until they felt they had to stop tackling and go for stripping the ball. I'm really not that worried about the defense.

A lot of positives to the game but anyone with any football IQ can see that Montana is going to have a LOOOOONG season and JJ is going to have a short season if the o-line doesn't improve fast.
