4th Fastest Human in Big Sky

After Sambrano, I would put Lisowski right up there. I think he's faster than Johnson. I didn't ever hear that Atkins was a burner. Canada is fast.

Saw Jabin at the basketball game last night, lots of Griz football guys were there too, and not just for the tug of war. Good to see them coming out and supporting basketball.

Shann Schillinger was there too.

Thanks for starting this thread. Baller, who do you think was the fastest on the football team?

I would say Jabin, Jordan Canada, C.J. Atkins before he got hurt and Tru. Donny would be in the mix but I'm sorry, 4th in the Big Sky doesn't blow me away. Will Cherry might be faster than all of them ;)

I'm not so sure why a lot of Griz fans so ardently mention Jordan Canada when they talk about Griz speed. While YES, he is pretty fast (although was run-down on a long potential touchdown)...he himself mentioned on the news that he hated to half to admit that Peter Nyguyen was faster than him. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Canada! He is an awesome runningback, with 3 great years ahead of him.

I would agree that Lisowski is one of the faster Griz...his conditioning throughout the season (covering kicks) really made a difference in his top-end speed.

Congratulations Donny. A football player that can compete with track guys is pretty good in my book (and worth mentioning).

By the way, I agree that Cherry is quite the burner...(tremendous athlete).

UM should drop track as a scholarship sport, and make it a club sport. Nobody gives a flyin' f__k about track.

You just might give a flying f if your son or daughter was representing UM on a track scholarship, or any of the other sports that are not so prestigious as football.

Does "nobody" mean just you?

Talked with a U of M distance runner a three years ago when I was up there. They represented themselves and the University in a very positive manner. Intelligent, well-spoken, on track to graduate and polite...there's a whole lot more to this world than coming in first place all the time.

With that line of thinking only football and basketball would be scholarship sports.

Not correct, keep ladies soccer and volleyball. Track is a waste of time and money. Fans could care less about the track team.

Considering how terrible the track program was prior to the Kitty coaching the Griz, I'd say that things are headed in the right direction.

The women's team finished 2nd in Outdoor last year, which if fairly incredible for a program that places almost no emphasis on track and field.
