The most damning indictment of today's performance is that they actually played an excellent first half. Without that you might miss where the real focus is - Bobby Hauck lost the game to Dan Hawkins in the halftime locker room straight and simple!... Hawkins elevated his team. Bobby whiffed...

I don't think this Griz team had more to give than they did today. And that second half by Davis showed how far they have to go to be relevant again...a long way.

And Davis is pretty young team (only 3 starters on offense and 3 on defense were seniors).

Bobby ball 2 is not working. This team has folded three weeks in a row. Never thought I would see that from a Bobby coached team.

Bobby isn’t the messiah some people want to believe he is.

He's not, but this is only FCS. You don't need a messiah to be relevant you just need.... whatever it is all those other programs figured out.

Apparently.....and can win first year as coach too (JMU won the chipper). Crazy as it sounds you can even get oline transfers.....they don't just disappear, they sign on at schools. Crazy

But at least the Griz won the first half! ;)

Indeed. Which prompted Delaney to use the phrase "tale of two halves" which prompted me to take a shot of vodka because....rules are rules.

My Fireball was going down so good in the first half to....and I never got to open it again after half time.

One of many details of today that leave me a bit heartbroken tonight. At least we all have each other....maybe an eGriz cuddle party is in order.

Yep, that's an old family tradition in my house. Goes back to the Lewis and Clark days.

I've been watching Davis all year. They get down early (ISU, CP come to mind).
The team I watched in the first half was shell shocked by Wa-Griz. Montana also smacked them in the mouth - very noticeable strategy of trying to get into Davis' heads as well (with some questionable activities ie, twisting Harell's knee, and lots of jawing).

Just some thoughts:
-Whatever Hawkins said at halftime worked. I would NOT enjoy being in the locker room for that little chat.
-I'm guessing the Griz played their best half of football of the season in the first half today.
-Sneed is a tough kid. He inspired his team in the first half.
-Sneed also should have taken himself out of the game after the fumble that stung his arm. Those next 2 INTS were 100% on him.

Good luck the rest of the season.

Awesome half game adjustments by Griz staff

Leading 21-3 at the half, having held Davis to 113 yards, and having piled up about 325 yards of TO, what adjustments would you make at halftime? Or, what adjustments do you believe UM didn't make? Just curious.

Maybe I should have. I'd have rather passed out than watch the 2nd half.
