We lost by 7 which is the amount we should have gotten due to the 1 blunder by refs... not including the other blunders(I'm not sure but I think CCU only had 1 call against them with 10+ against us)
The refs lost this game... These refs ended our season...
Call Nine -wah -wah and maybe a Waaah-mbulance will come and get you. Fact is the Griz needed to make more plays.
nah, this game was badly influenced by the officials. who knows what would have happened, but they changed the rules, so to speak.

It was a good year for UM football by any measure. They had a chance to pull this one out against a better team with some superior coaching and managed to make it exciting in spite of some poor execution of a questionable defensive plan and offense that was not as strong as in the past. Next year, with some creative coaching, things might be different. 10-3, is damn good.behappp said:GrizMusician said:Two big factors to this loss:
1. Obvious f*** up by the refs which cost the Griz a TD.
2. No kicking game.
Kicking game is tough in this weather
JJ was off today too many times and it took us too long to adjust to their QB scrambling

Really though, the Griz had the ball with a 1rst and 10 at the 17. They needed to be able to score with that circumstance, and if you aren't good enough to score in that situation, you aren't good enough to win playoff games.

This is such a shitty excuse. You understand that the 7 points they took off was the difference in the game? Yes you need to overcome it but if you think that was the only referee blunder you are blind. The refs were 1 sided the entire game and it's we deserved to be IN the game more so than we were. Would we have won? Who knows but the refs took the oppurtunity from us and that is why people are pissed off
Da Boyz Mom said:Yes, Yes, YES!!!! Football is such a mental game. On a series where the Griz were driving and almost certainly would have scored, the refs taking away a legitimate play absolutely messed with their heads. Not only that, the refs missed the blatant offsides on the play where Jordy threw the interception. Either one of those could have significantly impacted the outcome of the game. Would the Griz have won? Maybe not but they should have had a fair shot to do so.

The thing is, these sorts of things happen to all football teams ... disappointing bounces, weird flukes giving their opponents a great break. But championship teams are not only physically disciplined enough to play the game but they are mentally tough enough to give it their all when those sorts of bad breaks happen. The Griz were not like that today, which is why they make a short appearance in the playoffs.

No way our team would have thought this.
And we held them to 7 points in the 3rd and 0 points in the 4th qtr.
We got our ass handed to us in the first half. We returned the favor in the second half.
If you had told me the refs could be as unbelievably inept and unfair as they were then I would not have believed in this team either. It's just too bad that this ruined what could have been the second greatest comeback in Griz history - see SDSU
Maybe we still would have lost - but you can't change the rules as you see fit in the middle of a game.
They better be done. And fined too.nzone said:Down and distance on 3rd down and not converting on 4th down was a huge reason we didn't stay with this team in the 1st half. Not to mention poor tackling. The officiating was god aweful and after review they will be done. Horrible job by this crew.
