On the bright side, our players showed we can hang with the best in the nation. Our defense kept us in that game, despite giving up a lot on the ground. If our damn Offensive play calling would figure things out, we have a title contending team.

I seriously have no idea why our offensive coaches don't get a little more creative. We have the talent and solid defense to be much better.

I live in Vegas. Its pretty rare. If its a game that's on ESPN (like EWU and SHSU earlier this year) it is on the boards, as well as most playoff games, but that's about it.

I agree...UM just played the 3 time nat. champ at their place and did better than most here thought they would...If by some stroke of luck they meet in Texas, I would give the edge to UM, just barely.

Don't blow people out. Beat the shit out of your offensive/defensive lines until the opponent breaks. That's how they have done it for the last 3+ years. They would do the exact same thing to EWU.

Well that went as I thought it would, a defensive battle. Score was a lot higher than I predicted. Maybe we can do it again in the playoffs. Good luck the rest of the year Griz.

This is about what I was expecting. Our D will keep us in most games. I think we'll be good in conference and this early schedule will be a big benefit. Our o-line hinders our play calling considerably. There's a reason good teams have some big heavy tackles on their roster.

Yep, pretty disappointing.

BUT ... let's not forget that this NDSU squad held FBS Iowa State (which has turned out a bit better than everyone thought) to just 14 points. We have an OL that's still gaining experience against a very experienced, high-talent D line. What else could you expect?

SO: Am I sad the Griz lost? Of course. Do I think the team represented itself well? You god-damn better believe it. The Griz D was on the field for nearly 40 minutes, and yet the #1 team in the country only scored one TD.

No question ... the OL got "schooled" in this game. If they learn from it ... they will be better the next time out.

So the Griz are 2-2 ... something that a lot of people here (me included) thought might be the case. but with our defense -- unbelievably battle-tested -- I look for the Griz to make a good run in the Big Sky.
