I suggest lots of Mitt Romney fatheads in the student section.
Why? Because he's a Mormon? Mitt Romney has little connection to Utah, other than running the Winter Olympics here, and no connection at all to Weber St. And Weber is a public institution and there is only one Mormon on the team. Don't really get the point of that one.

You're thinking too much. Regardless of whether it's logical or factual, or makes any sense at all, Mitt Romney fatheads = pure comedy gold.

Yep, you're both right. Basketball is a long season and it's hard to sustain fans' interest. I don't know how baseball even survives.

But having said that, I do think the Weber game will be packed. I suggest lots of Mitt Romney fatheads in the student section.

:? :? :?

Hopefully, something better than these dudes.

Proud,

why the player hatin', lol

i took that pic and made that head sign. it was the 2007 big sky championship game. the mitt romney head sign is actually david patten, the 2007 big sky mvp and conference dunk record holder and 2007 espn college dunk contest participant.

most of those guys in the pic are forum members on our board except tim toone on the left.

Nothing personal WWC. I just like razzin purple cats in grass skirts

I see. If that's the case, why not some Newt Gingrich fatheads? That would make me chuckle a bit.

Is Waldo the "R" up there in that 2007 picture ?

I admit it, I am looking ahead...

by Waldo » Thu Feb 16, 2012 8:21 am

Coach Rahe will not do this and won't allow the players to do this, but I am a fan and can do what I want so I am going to look ahead and speculate a little.

Lets be honest, the next two games for Weber (UTA and UNC) won't matter in the grand scheme of things. If Weber wins out, then that is fun for fans and keeps momentum going. But, it won't matter in terms of determining who hosts the conference tournament. It probably won't make any difference in NCAA seeding (Big Sky winner will get a 15 seed).

The games for Montana likewise won't matter in the grand scheme of things unless UM loses to both UNA and MSU. I don't see them losing both of those games at home. They have to win at least one of those games to stay alive in the conference championship hunt. If UM wins out against UNA, MSU, and UH, then it is fun for them. But it won' matter in terms of determining who hosts the conference tournament or NCAA seeding, etc... They just have to win 1 more conference game (at home) against two of the worst teams in the conference.

It looks like it will come down to one game for the regular season conference championship and the right to host the tournament.
How does this impact preparation and planning? Do you rest some players? Do you start game prep for Montana now? Would it be detrimental to look ahead?

Your single vote was inconsequential in the 2008 Utah GOP Primary. If you had voted for Mitt, the results would not have changed.

Official Results[4] Candidate Votes Percentage Delegates
Mitt Romney 264,956 89.49% 36
John McCain 15,931 5.38% 0
Ron Paul 8,846 2.99% 0
Mike Huckabee 4,252 1.44% 0
Rudy Giuliani 988 0.33% 0
Fred Thompson 613 0.21% 0

Here is the famous Weber Alumnus that you like best. :geek:
Heber Carl Jentzsch (born 1935) has served as president of the Church of Scientology International since 1982.

Heber Jentzsch grew up in a Mormon family, and identified himself as a "believing Mormon".[1] He is the son of polygamist Carl Jentzsch (who was excommunicated from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)[2] and Carl's third wife Pauline; Heber has 42 siblings.[3] While Heber Jentzsch was never baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his first name was inspired by the Latter-day Saint apostle Heber C. Kimball.[2]
Jentzsch was educated at Weber College in Ogden, Utah and the University of Utah, where he graduated in 1959 with a degree in communications.[2] He also studied Eastern religions.[4]
Before his involvement with Scientology, which he joined in 1967, Jentzsch was a journalist with the Los Angeles Free Press and an actor, having a bit part in the movie Paint Your Wagon.[5][6] The Internet Movie Database lists Jentzsch with one credited acting appearance, a small part playing a Nazi in one episode of the 1960s television series Combat!, and with an uncredited role in the movie 1776.
According to Jentzsch, two events of his life were pivotal: the arrest of his father in 1955, and himself being cured in the Scientology Purification Rundown from radiation burns he had suffered from since he was 15.[2]

Well, if the students wanted something to get behind, during the weber game they could all bring wigs and wear them in honor of "The Great Dame." WTF kind of nickname is that, anyway? I think it would be pretty funny.

And, yeah, as I said before, it might help if our PA guy would show some sort of excitement throughout the game.

That whole "great dame" name is about the lamest damn thing around.

And yes, bring back Fat Dad (or at least his energy).
Ugh. I hate that nickname as well. You can thank Weber State's terrible-ass radio broadcaster Carly Arky for that one. He's probably the worst radio guy in the conference, other than that doucher who calls the Montana State games.

I agree that it would be great to get the attendance up, and the crowd more into it, for these remaining game. There ought to be 5,000 or more rockin fans at these games, and more for at least the Cat game.

The crowds haven't been noisy or into the games either, at least much of the time. Even in the recent ISU game, the crowd had trouble getting loud on a consistent basis.

The Lady Griz crowd, while only just over 3,000, was terrific yesterday afternoon--pretty much for the whole game.

The Lady Griz crowd is so damn old they are cheering cause they are happy to be alive. :thumb:
 aw c'mon GB, I have not even hit retirement age yet!
