3rd down defense

Can't send 3 pass rushers on third down and drop eight. How many times have we been burned this season with this stategy? The defense gets no pressure and secondary can't cover anyone for any amount of time. They actually had some success when the defense dialed up a blitz on 3rd down. Would be nice if the corners could tighten up on receivers and bump them at the line to slow them down to give our pass rush more time. I would love to see Gamboa, Kemp, Tripp, hell anyone else at safety to see what they can do. Hermanson is not looking so good out there not sure if the foot is messing with em or what.

Agreed. The amount of improvement needed, at safety especially, is huge. So huge that I think Sentinel's JV could move the ball on them. By the way, when did Coach G loose his aggressiveness? Playing dbs 15 yards off the ball will not get it done! Also, whatever happened to the Hermeybadger? A guy who starts for a team that goes to the semis should not be playing as ill-disciplined as he has.

Perfect example on lack of aggressiveness by our defense and specifically the defensive backs was Eastern's 2 point conversion. Corner was way off at the goal line and just gave up the inside route for an easy conversion. It was like he was thinking don't get burned deep and the ball was on the 3 yard line.
