My guess would be Schye, Peevey, or Kidder.

What would be really interesting (but I highly doubt) would be if he'd consider awarding it to someone on the other side of the ball like Burke or Janssen.

Shame on you, Brint. The Tradition of #37 is that it is awarded to a DEFENSIVE player.
Wrong it is a team award, offense and defense have nothing to do with it.

Google #37 Montana Football and read the description of the award. It is specific: Defensive player.

About the No. 37
Grizzly football jersey No. 37 began its Legacy in the mid-80's when it was worn by fullback Kraig Paulson, who is now Montana??s defensive coordinator.

Since 1986 the player who wore the No. 37 passed it down to a younger player of his choice, with the only criteria, that player must hail from the state of Montana.

Wikipedia: "The #37 Jersey is a tradition began in 1987 by then running back Kraig Paulson. The Tradition holds that whomever wears #37 jersey selects a in-state recruit and leading DEFENSIVE player to wear it"

Clue--next time you walk thru the "Hall of Champions" read the inscription on the plaque.
Clue--Every player that has worn #37 since Paulson started the tradition is a DEFENSIVE player.

Well - I dunno, but I'm more inclined to trust gogriz.com than wikipedia - mostly, because I could go to wikipedia right now and make it say "special teams player." Don't we have this same argument every year? I think folks are being obtuse on purpose.

I think they nailed the EWU definition.
