37 Teams with No More Than 4 Losses

Another thing to consider for some programs are division 1 wins. ISU and NAU in their OOC essentially had 0 division 1 wins. They lost two play-up games each and won two games against division 2 or lower schools. So both of those teams may finish 8-4 but if they don't have the auto-bid they'll be sitting there with only 6 division 1 wins which would most likely keep them out.

Leave it to Brint to research this. I didn't even think about it. Improves our odds if the Griz do wind up 8-4. But man I hope they win out.

Go Griz!

So Abilene Christian isn't a counter yet? They're a member of the Southland Conference....

Actually, they probably should be counted as D-I, perhaps as a "half D-I."

They are in the transition period, and have a ways to go. Here's what the ACU web site had to say:
ACU said:
There is a four-year transition process; ACU would not be eligible for national championship opportunities until the 2017-18 school year, when it would become an active and postseason-eligible Division I member. ACU is immediately eligible to win regular-season conference championships in every sport. But it is not eligible for Southland Conference post-season competition for any sport in which the winner is the league's automatic qualifier for an NCAA championship (baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, football, women's soccer, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis and volleyball). ACU will be eligible for cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field conference championships beginning in 2013-14 and can participate in the conference golf tournament in 2014, but only as unattached entries. ACU will not be eligible for the league's automatic qualifier into the NCAA national golf tournament.

But I'm not sure if any of that is relevant as to when they are a D-I "counter" for football purposes....
