Millions of people trespass onto private property and many of those are churchgoers and school children? Am I reading that correctly? Wow, I guess trespassing isn't as wrong as I was led to believe? Next time I'm caught in the rain at 3 AM, I'll just climb into someone's personal construction project even if it is on the same parcel as their house. Hopefully, there will be a prayer group in there already...
At least they didn't jaywalk or take a pen from work and really violated someone's personal property...
Kidding aside, I think it looks stupid to make light of this. These are probably good kids who made a very stupid and selfish mistake, but they made it and need to be held strictly accountable. I'd be disappointed if we made excuses for them and compromised on discipline.
Yes, millions of people have trespassed onto construction sites. It's just fact. Many egriz posters have said they've done it. I've done it.
Can you really not see that trying to put actions and mistakes into perspective--particular when many people are blowing the mistake out of proportion and jumping to conclusion--is something different than making excuses for someone?
What's "selfish" about this mistake? AZ, I assume I'm going to need your help on this.
