3 Griz Arrested

Isn't it about time for ol Growler/Atlanta to be geting out of jail? Reason I ask is his radical far-out bandit type of posts beats the hell out of all the bull sh..t garbage that has been posted about these five young people. Three of whom are Griz football players. Many like to Troll and Grovel about these kids but have no facts to base any of their fantasy drivil on.

Coach Stitt could not have asked for a worse season to begin his new job. Broken legs, Florio's Missoulian head lines, Some nutty E-Grizers, Bad & unlucky played games, On and off field player issues, Engstrom et al, Good fans turning bad and many more issues to numerous to list.

Meanwhile we have to play a snake bitten ISU and beat these guys.

It would appear that common sense is nary as "common" as it used to or should be, and compassion just another casualty of politically correct.
People are always anxious to "teach someone else a lesson." It's like somewhere along the line, someone put John Calvin in charge of schools, athletics, society and that if you can show that society is willing to hurt someone enough for judgment mistakes and youthful stupidity, "breaking them" will somehow send a message to someone else that minor transgressions have absolute consequences even as they watch on TV and see rioters burning and looting stores and getting invited to the White House.

"Three strikes and you're out" laws ended up putting people in prison for life for grabbing a piece of pizza.

"Zero tolerance" policies have similar ridiculous effects.

Poor criminals in our country! Must be societies fault they can't follow very simple rules and laws...give it a rest already. You do realize the vast majority of people do manage to obey our laws.

Your rants are getting just as tiresome as others soldier boy. Possibly more so. No one's saying "poor criminals," other than you.

Man, the irony on this thread. Don't you need to be at drill early on?

No need to apologize to me soldier boy. I did my time. You're welcome, kid.

Seriously, just get out the kiwi, cold water and cotton balls, then it's wax on, wax off. :-)

A vengeful anti-Griz mentality appears to be alive and well on e-Griz where many “so called Griz fans” have jumped to conclusions and recommended severe punishments for the trespassing players (e.g. “send the shitheads packing”, “If I were Stitt, I would dismiss all 3 from the team immediately!!!”, “Boot 'em and don't look back”, “Kick them off the team, Stitt needs to make a statement”, “Boot em, I say no need to hear there side of the story”). These idiots spew such views without facts supporting such punishments or any allowance for hearing of the player’s side of things or explanations.

Were these “so called Griz fans” reared in N. Korea? Have they any concept of “due process” or “innocent until proven guilty”?

PR and /Griz75 and a few others are doing what they can to promote more thoughtful perspectives and reasoned judgement, but too many at this site are vengeful idiots. They can’t defend their rush to judgment, but try to counter other perspectives (e.g., Griz players may only be guilty of stupidity and misdemeanor trespass), by putting words in their opponents mouths and then arguing against things that were never stated in the first place.

This thread should be locked until all the facts come out.

Agreed. Thanks, Ranger.

I think it would be nearly impossible for anyone who has read my 13k posts to call me either vengeful or anti-Griz.

And I'd suspend all 3 of them for a minimum of 3 games even if all things turn out a good as we hope.

They still broke the law. They still brought disrespect to the Program and the University. And they still selfishly placed themselves above their teammates.

I trust the fact that I expect a great deal of personal responsibility from Griz players doesn't make me a vengeful fan in your mind. I like to think it makes me a reasonable one.

You are not anti-Griz, but you are anti-Big Sky conference and you are acting holier than thou on this subject.

The law is broken everyday by millions of people and lots of athletes. You probably break the law daily, by speeding, jay-walking, claiming questionable business expenses on your taxes, not paying employee taxes for your housekeeper or yard worker, taking pens from work, and perhaps even by doing little things that may be technical illegal in your investment business. Many people believe Wall Street and the financial services business breaks law frequently and some believe it is corrupt.

It is not about breaking the law. It is about how serious, or not serious, the matter was.

If all these guys did was walk into a building under construction while waiting for a ride, their "law breaking" was not very serious. People walk into buildings under construction daily. Adults, kids, lawyers, churchgoers. If they did more, then we'll learn about it and they will suffer the consequences. Even the homeowner who called 911 told the Kaimin that they should be charged with extreme stupidity. Yet, you, Mr. Holier Than Thou, want them suspended for 3 games.

Maybe you should be directing your outrage at the police officer(s), who appear to have grossly overcharged them. Even the county attorney said on Monday that there was not enough evidence to charge them with a felony. Or, maybe at the media, especially the Missoulian, which has made this non-stop headline news.

Based on what is known so far, it looks like they walked into a building under construction, something that millions of people do and have done. The headlines and apparent gross over-reactions of people like you have contributed to the supposed disrespect. The players made a mistake. It's the same "mistake" that millions of people make, but little or nothing comes of it.

You may not be vengeful, but you are a grossly mis-analyzing the situation, in my view.

They didn't selfishly put themselves above teammates. They walked into an unoccupied building under construction on Halloween night, probably for only a few minutes, while waiting for their ride. That's all they did (based on what is known). And no matter how much you would like to make it bigger than that, that's all it was. My guess is that their teammates don't blame this on the 3 guys. As I've said before, it's pretty clear when someone never played the game, and you clearly never played the game--and don't have a clue about what it's like to play college football. You are a fan who enjoys football when everything is going well and the team is doing well, but then turns on players, the team, coaches, when things aren't going as well.

From where I sit, you are worse than the dummies and trolls. You ought to know better, but you don't.

Boobie Dildo,

Let's put a temporary hold on shipping the torches and pitchforks from Bozeman. Please ship up the fainting couches and smelling salts instead.

You have good point about the police officers. WTF is up with the cops on this one? They seem to be of the Keystone variety... :egriz:

Not being current on anything, I think this is a tempest in a teapot solved very simply.

Get the family some complimentary box tickets for a season, give the guys windsprints and a stern look...and get back to doing what everyone wants...football!

Millions of people trespass onto private property and many of those are churchgoers and school children? Am I reading that correctly? Wow, I guess trespassing isn't as wrong as I was led to believe? Next time I'm caught in the rain at 3 AM, I'll just climb into someone's personal construction project even if it is on the same parcel as their house. Hopefully, there will be a prayer group in there already...

At least they didn't jaywalk or take a pen from work and really violated someone's personal property...

Kidding aside, I think it looks stupid to make light of this. These are probably good kids who made a very stupid and selfish mistake, but they made it and need to be held strictly accountable. I'd be disappointed if we made excuses for them and compromised on discipline.

Yes, millions of people have trespassed onto construction sites. It's just fact. Many egriz posters have said they've done it. I've done it.

Can you really not see that trying to put actions and mistakes into perspective--particular when many people are blowing the mistake out of proportion and jumping to conclusion--is something different than making excuses for someone?

What's "selfish" about this mistake? AZ, I assume I'm going to need your help on this.

PR you are calling out the posters for being too extreme and negative, but you are minimizing the situation, and it is painfully obvious. I don't expect you to see this because you truly lack insight into yourself. Everett has by far the most realistic rational thoughts on the subject thus far. He is looking at the situation like a normal intelligent person. You are looking at it like a cheap defense attorney. Carry on.

Now I'm confused. What is a cheap defense attorney?

Is that opposed to a rich bum? Or honest liar. Or normal intelligent person.

I new I was to dumb to play on this program....carry me off.
