Paul Ryan is representing some of these potential felons, and so far his strategy is to depict this breaking and entering as simply some curious guys with a ladder and perhaps some interest in construction:

A Missoula attorney representing one of the University of Montana football players arrested early Sunday on burglary charges says the students entered a Pattee Canyon residence out of curiosity.

“I haven’t seen any charging documents,” Paul Ryan said. “From what it appeared to them, it was just an unoccupied structure.”

“They were just curious as much as anything,” he added.

The Griz Cleaner is back. Is this one pro bono too? I called it in the Urban Meyer thread. Whom exactly is paying for Counselor Ryan's services yet again? Is there an Uncle Milt in the equation?

Can you give an example of any situation in which Ryan provided pro bono services for an athlete? Put up or shut up. You are really dishonest. Rotten apple. Pretty much a troll.

I'm not sure student athletes acquired the big bucks for their services yet, however, I am one of those that believe you are innocent until proven guilty, now there is a novel concept.

So, if Paul Ryan find it in his heart to defend a student athlete as of " https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volunteerism " because he believes in the novel concept of innocent until proven guilty, then he should be applauded not denigrated

Haslem did not "have them convicted" as 75 states. His statement is based on the booking charges...and according to the code of conduct, a felony is a felony and there is not gray area.....
A "felony is a felony" after a charge and a plea or a conviction, and not until then.

So by Haslem stating that according to the student code of conduct, a felony is a felony and there is no gray area, he is convicting them?

Since the county attorney has decided (for now) not to charge them with felonies, will he be reinstating them until she does?

My guess is no, they will wait to see what happens. They still won't play this Saturday either way and beyond that who knows.

County attorney is supposed to make a charging decision by noon today. By the end of today we should be aware of the actual story along with any punishment levied.

I once attempted to enter an unoccupied, under-construction residence in a driving rainstorm, based on my understanding of the “castle doctrine” meaning that there was free White Castle food located just through the open 2nd floor window of said residence. It ended up not working out for me, as the 1st rung of the makeshift ladder could not handle my considerable girth.* I then had a pizza delivered to me on the street corner. I robbed the delivery driver.

*girth = fatty, or the typical NDSU fan

They were out on Halloween, our first or second most popular unofficial Holiday, vying with Valentine's Day for # 1,

I'm a little ashamed to admit that I actually read all 25 pages of this crap, and this was the first time I felt compelled to say anything. This is by far the worst post on this thread. You really think VALENTINE'S DAY is "vying with Halloween" to be our favorite unofficial holiday? C'mon...does anyone in the universe really like Valentine's Day more than Halloween?

nah. at least in missoula im sure the favorite is the new, pc compliant "indigenous people day"...thanks liberal missoula.....

Seems pretty clear that this is misdemeanor trespassing, at the worst. Thankfully, stupidity -- in and of itself -- is not a felony.

Say WHAT? An absolutely egregious notion. There may be some surplus tar and feathers plus some torches and pitchforks at the ready...

This made me laugh; and not even really the fat part.

anyone know where we are on this?

KGVO site mentions a source indicated charges were dropped against the female driver. No other news posted yet. Missoulian posted Schmaing didn't have an attorney as of this morning. Why? All others have different attorneys.

From felony burglary and $50,000 bond to charges dropped. Any doubt that MPD overcharged everyone? This is a total travesty, a goddamned circus.
"The three players, all seniors, Kendrick Van Ackeren, John Schmaing and Joey Counts will appear Tuesday in Missoula Justice Court along with McLain Tomlinson and Courtney Reep at 3:00 p.m. One source has told KGVO news that charges against Reep, 22, have already been dropped, although that has not been confirmed by the county attorney’s office."
Looks like noon, Hawaiian Standard Time is most likely.

Hmmmmm..punishment

All have to take a seminar on avoiding bonehead decision making
All not permitted to take part in pre game drills at ISU
Alls well that end well

people should really wait for the facts to come out about this situation before they speak
Then what would people do with their lives?

No kidding. This is how I get my exercise...jumping to conclusions, flying of the handle and wading through all the b.s. on eGriz. :thumb:
