3,400 miles and 0-4

After my last home game vs App St in 2009, we moved to Huntsville Al. Since then, I have been to four Griz games. Knoxville TN, Boone NC, Lynchburg VA, and now Macomb IL. We have drove to all four of them, traveling 3,337.4 total round trip miles. We’ve drove that far to watch the Grizzlies go 0-4. Now I’m not saying this in any type of negative way. What I’m saying is I’d drive it all over again just to watch my Montana Grizzlies play. Can’t get enough of them even if we lose. Go Griz!!

Side note. Don’t start with the “bad luck” posts. I don’t believe in luck. Shit happens. Now if we lose in 2020 to Missouri St, then maybe.....

Another side note. Where the hell was everyone else!? There wasn’t 200 Montana’s there counting the team and staff. Severely disappointed in Griz Nation.

I thought there would be more Griz there as well. I estimated 250-300. Quite a few of us on reserved side out of the sun.

Stick with it! My wife and I have put up roughly 4,262 miles for road games since 2014 and the Griz have gone 2-7 in those games. Win or lose, we have so much pride in the Griz and we love any chance we get to watch them.

I have noticed that a lot of Griz fans who go to the away games pretty much sit on their hands. A lot of times when we stand up and yell on defense, people around us look at us like we’re crazy. It seems like fans go to the away games because they have the only opportunity to see the Griz play, but they don’t get into it. Maybe I’ve been spoiled from sitting in the NEZ the last several years. It’s unfortunate, but I don’t think that Griz Nation travels as well as we used to.

This helps to understand why there was no Montana...Grizzlies...chant heard.
Griz fans on both sides of the field and no chant, disappointing (ha ha)

On the visiting section, I’d say there wasn’t more then 100 of us to start the game and I was guessing the vast majority were family of the athletes. I know there was only about 5 of us hollering(I was the loudest of course) but Reid Miller’s mom was right there with us hollering away. Atleast the fans who were sitting on their hands were atleast stomping their feet though and there was a very quiet “First Down, Montana!!” Cheer every 1st down.

I know it's been beat to death but I really hate the current Big Sky Conference configuration. I would love a trip to Flagstaff or Greeley for a game. Everything else is just too far for me.

Was in flag with a group of 30-40 every other year from '93-'07. Was a blast. We only lost once that entire time, which always makes the road trip more fun.

My road trips OUTSIDE of Flag haven't gone so well... L at Cal Poly, L at UNC. Undefeated at games in Wa/Griz tho... :thumb:

I’m also told a belligerent griz fan was asked to leave the rib tasting because he brought his own sauce & beer. Anything else you want to fess-up to ABG?

There are no Montana Grizzlies chants happening at Washington-Grizzly Stadium either, It appears the cheerleaders have no clue how to start a chant.

We don't need no stinkin' cheerleaders!

Hey, if I’m gonna drive almost 600 miles to a football game in a cornfield, I’d better get some damn good bbq, and that my friend, was not it!

All the dam road closures & detours coming from Chicago - felt like six hours in Snap’s pickup.

Shoot, by the time we finally made it to the cornfield(which is everything from St Louis to Macomb and beyond), every straightaway between each little 3 block long “wrong turn” felt like 6 hours.
