From what I have been told the Cats coaches understand that the best chance he has at the next level would be playing LB. He is a special talent.. and he will have the opportunity to put on some weight and play LB full time. I agree Olson has a great chance to get drafted. He is awesome. But Anderson is just a freak kind of athlete. And to add he is incredibly smart and tough. I do think after 2 more years he will be drafted in the first 3 rounds. Do I have any data to back that up?..not really. Other than watching him..he was the best football player on the field as a true freshman, the best football player on the field as a QB and he will be the best football player on the field as a LB. I cannot think of a game changer for Cats or Griz to come out of Montana ever. the kid just has it all.

Guess you never heard of Dave Dickenson.

Get back to us when Anderson leads, the nation in tackling, is rated near the top at inside backer for 2020, and is picked by SI as a player expect to dominate at the NFL Combine next year.
I will get back to you. I am not trying to get in any kind of dispute with you all. I am a Griz fan but let us be honest... if that kid isn't playing for the Cats the last two years the Griz win both games going away. Dave Dickenson was amazing but limited on the NFL level because of his size. Anderson is elite athlete..

Troy should def be at or near the top of this list. "FCS players to watch" Yes he's def one of the top ones, and he will be a beast at LB. But, to say he's the best QB in the Big Sky if he played full time is not only inaccurate, it's absurd. First, he DID play QB full time for an entire season. Second, AS a QB he is not at the level of Meier, Cookus, Barriere or Sneed, and that's not a knock on Troy from a Griz fan. It's just honesty.

Obvious cat fan. Even if Anderson was a LB, which he should be... He doesnt even sniff Olsons jock. So can we move on now?

Not a Cats fan at all. Just understand the game. I know one thing for certain..if Anderson would have chosen the Griz over the Cats.. the Griz would have won the last two games.

Anderson is wait n see at linebacker. He’ll be good, but just how good is unknown. I highly doubt he’s as good as Olson. He actually was the best quarterback in the Sky last year, according to the coaches who named him first team all conference. I think his best position so far has been running back.

The Griz would have won both years, had Anderson gone out of state too.

Anyone can sniff a jock... Just look at some of the posters on Egriz... :D

This made me laugh...Thank you.

***As for the Olson VS. Andersen debate. Olson wins it at the LB position because Andersen hasn't played it. We will all find out who does better next year. I think Olson is a STUD, and should get drafted very high if he stays healthy, and maybe shows some extra stuff against Oregon.

***As for the best player ever to come out of Montana... Right now it is Dave Dickinson followed probably by Marianni, then maybe Corey Widmer. Great thing about sports is, this is all speculatory and based on opinion ( Barry Sanders was the greatest RB of all time in my mind)

***As for Jock sniffing, my ex girlfriend in high school was REALLY good at it, just never with me...

Something else your ex also knows that Anderson played both ways in his freshman season. Not sure how many snaps, but he played linebacker none the less. Anyone paying attention can see he’s a game changer & will likely excel wherever he plays, other than QB. Unless he’s playing Montana.

All I know is this: I f***[*] wish Anderson was wearing Maroon and Silver.

Me too. But I can tell you this. He wouldn't be starting at lb or QB for us. Honestly I think his best position would be fullback in a triple option offense. Next position would be TE if he was a couple inches taller. He would be badass or more badass anyways.

If TA was a griz, trust me on this one....... he absolutely would have started somewhere for you as a true Freshman, and last year. Probably could have been a starter at at least ten positions for you, or for MSU. He's a once in a life time gifted athlete.

But has been completely misused by the Cat coaches. A travesty and completely unfair to the kid. If he is good enough to play in the NFL he now has two years to garner attention at LB, unless they choose to move him again. I hope for his sake they play him at LB and keep him there. As a Griz fan I hope they move him to punter.

If he's that good, he should have gone straight to the NFL.

If he's really that good, why didn't he make that top 25 list? I would think most FCS third round NFL draft picks would be on that list.

Quit making sense. I don't like it. :)

Olson played little but ST before 2018 (a real reflection of Semore) and positioned himself to where he is today in but a year. I don't see why a player as talented as Anderson couldn't do the same.

As for the best player ever to come out of Montana... I'm not sure why the current MSU OC shouldn't be in the conversation. I might add Dwan Edwards from Columbus. Both were MT HS stars and too good to play FCS.

I was thinking more in the lines of Players that were from Montana, and played for MSU or UM... Casey Fitzimmons would also be on the list if you include everyone from Montana at any level..

IMO, If troy was a Griz, he would have been a running back (Starter) Too small for fullback. He is not a good QB for the Cats or for any other team! He is a runner, he is an exceptional defensive player. He will do well at LB, how well, we will see. I wish him the best as he is a Montana product!
