Ndsu first 4 years in the FCS they went 35-9

In the Great West Conference. I’m not saying they weren’t good those years but they weren’t FCS world beaters yet dominating the likes of fellow D2 move ups like Southern Utah, Cal Poly, UC Davis, and South Dakota St. Their next 3 years in the Gateway/MVC they lost 17 games.

They've had 1 losing season since joining the fcs and that was their 2nd year in the Missouri Valley, after that it was domination too. My point is, does anyone see Ferris St doing anything similar? They barely squeaked by Michigan tech last year. They ain't NDSU.

Nope and the Griz are nowhere near where they were when they lost to NDSU back in the day.

Oh I agree about Ferris for sure. No question we should handle them. Maybe not by three scores unless one or two of those is only FG’s but we definitely should not lose. I was just commenting that NDSU was not dominating the FCS immediately and that it took them a bit to get on their roll. I did not remember though that they were not allowed to participate in the playoffs for so long. I was wondering why they did not get in after their one loss season to SDSU. They were definitely an FCS ready team though when they rolled into here in 2003 and Ferris, albeit being back to back natty winners, is not at that level.

Yeah, good point. I see Ferris a lot like the Central Washington team we played in 2008. They're very good for D2, but a team that we should beat so long as we don't absolutely shit the bed. They're not moving up to FCS next season like NDSU was in 2003. Also, that 2007 season was so annoying with bison fans claiming they were better than App State. That loss to SDSU was a godsend.

Announced attendance since that’s still money in the bank. We’re talking about how many people support the Griz, not how many people actually sit in their seats and no, you can’t cherry pick the most attended game out of the count. How many tix are allotted to MSU and how many go to UM’s ticket sales. Quit trying to be a cheater and man up. Also, Griz is with one z, we’re not the Memphis Grizzlies.

We’re talking about an half empty stadium, and that has nothing to do with people supporting the Griz. And the U loses poop of money from less concessions, merchandise, and that’s not even the mention how much the community loses out on,

Your original post was based solely off attendance and the only way that is officially counted is through ticket sales. If you don’t like it, then back down from the bet.

Here's the quote, "The home schedule combined with diminished expectations is going to produce a half empty stadium." Is the University going to use holograms to fill those empty seats?

Griz fans have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt they don’t give two shits who the opponent is. I’ll take your bet for any amount of money you’re willing to lose. Name your amount.

He’ll only take your bet if you agree to having three separate parties, not associated with the school, doing an official head count of all those in attendance. It only counts if it’s warm butts in the seats, not all the other people that still support the U with their hard earned money but might have some other engagement that particular weekend and don’t mind missing one of the six games they payed to see. Oh sorry, five games cus he also refuses you to allow the numbers from the Griz/scat game since those will obviously skew the average in your favor.

ok :thumb: The lowest attended first-round playoff game since stadium expansion happened last year. There weren't 13,000 people there.

I don’t trust you. Which unaffiliated official head counters did you use?

I watched that game on TV. That stadium was certainly more than 1/2 full. Easily. You are incorrect.

To his credit the announced attendance was 13,390 but I’m guessing he’s failing to account that at any given time there might have been 400 people not in their seats cus they were in the bathrooms, the concessions, or tailgating. Upchuck, how do we count those people? We might have to register Griz game ID’s to make sure no one’s counted twice or missed. This is going to be a mess, especially when a recount is court ordered.

Here we go.......... good fan/bad fan. Give it a rest

Uhhh, yes. A fan that refuses to support their team because he thinks the schedule is soft is a bad fan. I’m not worried though cus there are plenty of good fans that will want to support them in his place.

These bad fan debates are exhausting and it's just never ending. What makes someone a "Good fan"? Do they have to donate x percentage of their income to Grizzly athletics? Do they have to make every game? Are they allowed to miss one in the fall to hunt?

It also creates a never-ending measuring contest. "Oh, well I'm a better fan because I am in the Quarterbacks Club and I know when and where Bobby Hauck's third cousin once removed was born." These dumb comments are more likely to drive people away from UM athletics than bring them in.

I agree with Rosey. The university scheduled a poor OOC schedule this year, that's a fact. Season tickets are expensive and games take a whole day for those of us traveling from out of town. I'd rather buy tickets to 1-2 games (Idaho/MSU), than waste money on the rest of the games with this schedule. But, even though I'm a "bad fan," I'll keep donating to GSA, watching the games from home, and 1-2 games per year, I'll take seats from the 'holier-than-thou' fans.
