2026 Schedule

Everyone forgets these scheduling contracts are signed two to four years in advance, i.e. Griz v. SDSU in Vegas in 2029. The PAC 12 still had 12 teams in it at the time this deal was made. Scheduling doesn't occur the year prior. Also, OSU and WSU are fighting with the teams that left to keep all of the conference money. Not sure that litigation has been resolved yet.
Same concept applies for how good or bad a team is when we play them. When UND, In. St., or Sacred Heart are scheduled, the Griz have no idea what they are going to get. The school announced playing UND in Feb. of 2024. So the deal was probably initiated in 2023 and finalized shortly thereafter.
The litigation settled. The end result was that the departing teams still got paid for 2023-2024, but Oregon and Washington State kept all assets and revenue for the Pac-12. They also retained the Pac-12 Bowl agreements that had been signed through this year, so a good chunk of revenue could come there.

And a big chunk went to drawing in teams to rebuild the PAC and keep it solvent before the deadline. Also defending the MW schools in the courtroom for departing early. That’s a hefty sum of money pending at this time.

I don't think they are. I think what happened is the BSC allowed the Griz to keep UT Tech on the schedule as a non conference game because they were already on the schedule as a non conference game. That way, no scrambling to find a new opponent.
Oh, right forgot Griz scheduled several years out with UT Tech. Kind of odd playing a conference team as a non conference game, but I suppose everyone needs to play the same number. In theory, could tie for conference champs despite playing each other?

I think the Griz played UND once or twice in the same way if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the update. I followed the news for awhile but didn’t hear the end result. Was hoping WSU and OSU got to keep all the money after everyone else abandoned the PAC12 conf.

Had some time to look over all the teams schedules. Here are some things I noticed.

- Southern Utah is this years odd man out with only 8 conference games. When you have an odd number of teams playing an odd number of games, it's not mathematically possible for everyone to play 9 games, so every year there will be one team that only gets 8 games. That will be the T-Birds next year, and then Utah Tech in 27. Because of this, SUU will have to play 4 non-conference games to get to 12, and one of those will occur on November 21 (final week of the regular season) against Sac State. The T-Birds are the only BSC team that scheduled Sac next year.

- There will be at least one team every week that won't be able to play a conference game because of the odd number. In week one (or zero. Whatever we're calling it), that team is Idaho State and shoutout to the Bengals for getting a home game against VMI so they're not taking a week one bye. Good job by them getting an FCS opponent at home.

- Next year for maybe the first time I can ever recall, all 13 BSC teams will be playing an FBS opponent. There's usually 1-2 that don't, but everyone has one next year. The top 3 best matchups are cats vs. Nevada, Griz vs. Oregon State, and UNC vs. Wyoming. The top 3 worst matchups are PSU vs. Oregon, UTU vs. BYU, and EWU vs. Washington.

- Cal Poly is the only team that has still not finalized their non-conference schedule, but as long as they don't schedule a non-D1, then for the first time I can ever recall, nobody will be playing a non-D1 next year. That would be huge for the league.

- Utah Tech has 2 non-conference games against Big Sky teams (previously signed before joining the league) against NAU and the Griz to go along with their 9 game conference slate. That means the only Big Sky team that the Trailblazers won't play next year is Idaho. They'll face everyone else though. Of course, the NAU and Griz games won't count towards the standings, but I still thought it was interesting they have 11 BSC teams next year.

That's all I noticed for now, but if I see anything else, I'll share it as well!
