2026 Football start times:

It's Scripps who will be airing those games, so unless you expect ESPN to be swooping in for the coveted 1 pm matchups against (checks notes... powerhouses Drake and Utah Tech)... then yes... it is interesting.
Not what I said. The University negotiates those separately which is why they don't find a broadcast partner usually until later. I guess my edit was late.

I'm glad to see the first game is a night game but I wish the second one was as well. I will be there for both games and while I can handle cold and loud, I'm not so good with hot. And yes I live in Texas but we don't go outside in the summer. Texas is why God invented AC.
It's awful. Assuming both of those early September games are blowouts, it'll be empty by the 3rd quarter. People might actually stay later into the game if it was started later and didn't end when it was still 95 degrees out. September 1pm kickoffs are the single most miserable games we have every year.

Hopefully that 1:00 PM kickoff is just a placeholder. One can hope that Montana would be negotiating a late afternoon/early evening kickoff time for that game with whoever is going to broadcast it lol.

I just don't think they wanna have multiple night games in a row. With how far people drive, asking fans to to pay for hotels 3 weekends in a row seems unreasonable. You don't want attendance to fall off because people don't want to have to pay for that many hotels in a season.
