LadyGriz 2025 WBB Transfer Portal

Avery Howell on the same team as Devon Coppinger and Olivia Anderson; should be pretty decent in a year or so. Chloe Spreen went back home to Indiana from Alabama.

I definitely wouldn't expect much from the 'Portal,' at least this year. Seems like most of them that have entered so far are from back east anyways.

Taylor Feldman of NAU transfers to Purdue. Is this a sign that Payne's players may not be following her to Santa Clara,,,,,
It's interesting that none of her former players have committed yet to her new school. I mean it could be LP needing time to get things situated but it could mean they aren't following her.

Everybody will be calling her Rae Ehrman, except maybe you.

The Lady Griz also signed a player that will have only one year of eligibility left, Maggie Hutka.
Thanks for the personal slight, there Heathcliff. Might just as well keep on considering a gender as a secondary citizen, right? Other threads have mentioned Hutka as well. Glad to see you're keeping up on things. Perhaps, though, a R-Jr. eligibility might be in the works?

Maggie only played 4 games this past season before transferring from Colorado Christian. I would think she has a great chance of getting that extra year.

I'm kind of lost. What's the Rae/Remington thing? I see her Instagram says Remington Rae.

Well, I googled her. Seems all the articles referred to her as Rae. The title of the articles had Remington "Rae" Ehrman, but the body of the article referred to her as Rae. The article on gogriz.com on her recruitment to Lady Griz referred to her as Rae. So, it is obvious to me that she goes by Rae instead of her real first name.

Idaho is gonna be tough next year. They are doing well in the portal. Fingers crossed that Nate is gonna bring in some good additions.

Lorena Barbosa, 6-5, F, Sr. (4.1 ppg) → Idaho
Deborah Dos Santos, 6-0, F, Sr. (12.9 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 1.5 spg) → Idaho
Niveya Henley, 6-0, G, Jr. (11.7 ppg) Idaho

There are probably upwards of 5 roster spots that Harris needs to fill. Since the reporting and coverage of the LG activities in the portal/JC and HS recruiting is a bit muted it is a bit unknown as to how many roster openings they have currently with eligibility applications, migrations and such.

Just looking at some of follows by staff on Twitter, I think they might have a line on a few JC players. Kennedy Gillette is one (cousin of former LG target Shay Shippen) who was a sophomore at CSI this last year. She's been recruited pretty heavily by a lot of regional D1 schools. There are a couple of other potential targets on that CSI squad the UM might be interested in as well. Again just gleaning whatever information I can get from social media.

My hunch is there might be a class of 2025 HS player or two that'll be added w/Ehrman in a week or two, but I honestly don't know how active some of it is.

Whatever the staff is doing, they are keeping their cards close to their vest.

Shay Shippen is the younger sister of Kysa Shippen...who is currently at CSI. Shay is committed to Columbia.

Kennedy Gillette made 3rd team All-American this past season. If you look at the NJCAA All American list there are quite a few talented players

Many of the top JUCOs are not on this side of the country, but CSI and SLCC are always in the top 25 and always have talent. Both of those schools pump out D1 kids. The other schools in the conferemce Snow, Utah State Eastern, North Idaho and Colorado NW are usually on the outside looking in and usually have D2 and NAIA talent. Kansas, Texas and FL are the top areas for finding D1 talent in the country.

Region 18 is very good in MBB.

Ok. Thats what I was hoping it was. But thought maybe this was a case of a...well nevermind. I wont even go there. But you can probably guess what I thought you and Wyoming were arguing about with her.

Rae is her nick name. First letters of her first, middle, and last name. At least, I assume the 'a' in Rea is the first letter of her middle name. It's obious what the R and E stand for.

Not that it really matters but Rae is probably her actual middle name and not an acronym. It's quite common as a middle name. I dated two girls that both had it as a middle name. There's the singer Carly Rae Jepsen. Rae has roots in a few different cultures: Egyptian Sun god Ra, short for Rachel in Hebrew, meanings of grace and beauty in Spanish and Scottish, etc, etc.
