Tell us more about how Enstrom didn’t fire O’Day and Pflu. Thanks for taking the bait. And they’re avoiding him
Probably could have done better with a 3-3-5 in the second half to get a handle on Szczur. There was that Villanova team that won it all in 2009. They beat uh, (checks google) the GRIZ.
Yesterdays was Pifferini, today I have no ideaSo are there a total of 2 Griz Bangs, or was yesterdays already posted?
Some wisdom and respect. Thanks!Coach Hauck has done a good job coaching in the sequel, but he does need to tweak both the offense and defense.
Offense: Junk the quarterback by " feel," and select a starting QB by the third nonconference game if not before !!! If h I s performance is underwhelming, fire him and replace him with QB # 2. When we have a four or five score lead during the 4th Qtr., play QB # 2.
Defense: Junk the 3-3-5 and it's exotic Blue Angels' flight formations: stunts, stems, twists and use them to a lesser extent in a base 4-3-4 and if an opponent gets pass happy with 3 or 4 receivers, drop a LB and play nickel, 4-2-5 ( No college team was won a NC playing the 3-3-5, and no NFL team playing the 3-3-5 has won a Super Bowl !!! In fact, I am not aware of any NFL that currently uses a 3-3-5. And that is not a coincidence !!! )
Some tweaks need to be made--a tune up for the GRIZ Cadillac is needed, but just six years when Coach Hauck came back for the sequel, the Cadillac was smoking badly under the hood, the engine frequently stalled and quit, and our Caddy needed a complete engine and transmission rebuild, which took 2018 and '19 !!!
I know way more about it than you. Have known O’day since his western breeze days.Tell us more about how Enstrom didn’t fire O’Day and Pflu.
Western Breeze. Sounds like a Blazing Saddles reference.I know way more about it than you. Have known O’day since his western breeze days.
No, you don't know O'Day better than I do. I have been good friends with him for a long time. We talk, text, and meet for drinks and dinner quite a bit. I texted with him, as well as Pflu, multiple times yesterday. Pflu is also my good friend. See him frequently in AZ, as well as in MT when he visits. I already knew a lot about the situation, but they fed me more information. I assume O'Day thinks you are a total idiot. I just texted him.I know way more about it than you. Have known O’day since his western breeze days.
Hauck and coaches were never doing the qb rotation by feel. That's just what he said to the press to deflect the question. That's why he told some of us.Coach Hauck has done a good job coaching in the sequel, but he does need to tweak both the offense and defense.

We seem to be going after a lot of JUCO guys this yearAnother name to watch Juco OT Carter Bowen 6’7” 320 LBS
Yes, I thought the same thing. We must have been on them for awhile and knew a lot about them.We seem to be going after a lot of JUCO guys this year
His deflection failed. His statement became a major point of conversation and confusion in the fan base and made him look foolish.Hauck and coaches were never doing the qb rotation by feel. That's just what he said to the press to deflect the question. That's why he told some of us.
I think those who could see thru it did.His deflection failed. His statement became a major point of conversation and confusion in the fan base and made him look foolish.
Still not posted. Probably not Fernandez as he posted two new offers after the bang.So are there a total of 2 Griz Bangs, or was yesterdays already posted?
Totally agree. But the answer was so absurd that it damaged his credibility much more so than if he’d simply said no comment and cited not wanting to give the opponent a tactical advantage.I think those who could see thru it did.
I hear this a lot, and it just isn't factual. The 3-3-5 is used a LOT in the NFL. Any 3-4 defense that drops into a nickel package is a 3-3-5.( No college team was won a NC playing the 3-3-5, and no NFL team playing the 3-3-5 has won a Super Bowl !!! In fact, I am not aware of any NFL that currently uses a 3-3-5. And that is not a coincidence !!! )
"Junking" the 3-3-5 isn't a "tweak". It would require a wholesale overhaul of the defensive roster. We currently have ONE guy (Ramos) on the roster over 280. In your proposal he'd need a minimum of six for starters, depth and development at DT. We wouldn't need the # of safeties and corners we have.Coach Hauck has done a good job coaching in the sequel, but he does need to tweak both the offense and defense.

Elrond. You’re dealing with people who think teams stay in their base defense the entire game. It’s not worth it. Although to be fair, Baer would stay in his base defense the entire game. Bradford changed that.I hear this a lot, and it just isn't factual. The 3-3-5 is used a LOT in the NFL. Any 3-4 defense that drops into a nickel package is a 3-3-5.
By the same token, the Griz often bring a player down to the line of scrimmage, meaning that sometimes the Griz defense is functionally stacked in a 4-2-5 or a 4-3-4.
If you want to say that we should not use it as our base defense, that's an opinion and everyone is welcome to theirs. If you want to say we don't seem to have the personnel last year that could 2-gap at the NT position, that is a totally valid opinion, and everyone has a right to it. But people saying that college and NFL teams never run a 3-3-5 either don't know what a 3-3-5 is, or they don't know what they are watching on TV. Defenses are more fluid than people on this board give them credit for.
NFL teams are also treating the nickel position as a hybrid safety position more and more, which is something that came out of the 3-3-5. Before the start of the season, or early in it, Vic Fangio talked a good bit about that.
