Likely not, but I went with his designation on VC because I wasn't entirely sure how he was going to used here.Anderson won’t be a PG

Well just 2 hours after I post this, I see he’s now pulled down his UM official visit post off of Instagram. Maybe that’s a sign that Moore or Johnson is returning? Damn I was excited about this one.Still waiting on a decision from NAU’s Jayden Jackson. He visited UM last week along with UIW and not sure who else. If it’s between those two then I like our chances. If we land him then I’m gonna feel really good about our team next year. He’d be the perfect replacement for Moore. He was second on the team in scoring behind only Trent McLaughlin and he averaged double figures scoring each of the last 2 years at NAU. Fingers crossed!![]()
He seemed like a really good kid and teammate. Wish him well.Jalen Foy into the portal. With the later timing of this, it kind of looks like a DeCuire making room type of move.
Where in the world do you come up with 6 from Weber? Blaise Threatt had exhousted his eligibility and is in the portal pending a law suit against the NCAA. He may or may not have any eligibility left. Weber lost 2 scholarship players to the portal (coaches choise), and a couple of walk on guys (just hoping). Just count scholarship players with eligibility left and you will be more accurate.Idaho State is the clear leader heading into the final stretch for team most gutted by the portal. Northern Arizona had been the leader, but ISU losing Darling probably carries them to the top of the list. Sacramento State gets credit for sheer numeracy, but have attenuated some of their losses with the Bibby bump.
Total Losses:
1. Sacramento State- 10
2. Northern Arizona- 8
3. Idaho State- 8
4. Idaho and Weber State-6
6. Montana State and Eastern Washington-5
8. Northern Colorado-4
9. Montana and Portland State-3
All Conference Players Lost:
Darling (ISU)- MVP/Newcomer/1st Team
Towt (NAU)- 2nd Team and Defensive Team
Reynolds (UNC) -1st Team
Threat (WSU)-1st Team
Moore (UM)-2nd Team
Jake O'Neill (ISU)-HM and Defensive Team
Brandon Walker (MSU)-HM
Last year I differentiated. This year I haven't. Just chose to focus on roster rather than actual scholarships this year because of the new NCAA mens basketball rules regarding roster management. Not an exact science. I know that WSU bulk of their departures don't count for traditional scholarship counts and what they could use it for, but they are roster spots.Where in the world do you come up with 6 from Weber? Oldrunner seems to struggle with the idea that all roster spots are scholarship spots moving forward when it comes to opting-in to the settlement.Last year I differentiated. This year I haven't. From the limited amount of information I have on Threatt was that it was a small chance that he gets back a year due to his D2 status. So I listed him even though he has exhausted his eligibility. If you've got different information than what I read on twitter about said attempt, then so be it.
All roster spots are not necessarily scholarship spots. You can split 13 grants 15 ways if you want to, but it is not required. A walk on is still a walk on. Almost all of the walk ons that come to Weber do so with the idea that they will contribute on the scout team and that our coaches will help them find an appropriate landing spot the following year. There is no expectation of returning and they almost never do. Some years there is a request sent out to the studentbody for volunteer walk ons. It may be different at UM and other places, but that is the reality here.Oldrunner seems to struggle with the idea that all roster spots are scholarship spots moving forward when it comes to opting-in to the settlement.
With opting-in you can offer 15 scholarships. All roster spots are not necessarily scholarship spots. You can split 13 grants 15 ways if you want to, but it is not required. Yes, that is true, but some of those 15 grants would not be full rides. You still only have 13 full rides to deal with. However, it is possible to have NIL money to make up the difference. Opting in just allows you to split scholarships if you choose to. You are not forced to. You can choose to have 13 full rides and 20 walk ons if you want. The only restriction is that you can only roster 15 at a time. You can have 100 guys in practice if you want. Last I heard, Weber is sticking to 13 full rides and they usually have about 5 walk ons. Not many coaches can or will play 15 guys anyway. There have been a few years where I have noticed P4 teams with less than 13 rostered at the beginning of the season and some as low as 9.With opting-in you can offer 15 scholarships.

That could very well happen. I think it’d be fun to play for Buzz Williams.Moore to Maryland?

Resetting Maryland basketball's roster and biggest needs as Buzz Williams works the transfer portal
Kevin Willard added 11 transfers in his three seasons. Buzz Williams will have no choice but to add more than that in his first offseason. Six transfers have committed to UMD, including four of Williams' former players. Each played at a high-major level but the Terps are in the mix for a cluster...247sports.com
