MBBALL 2024-25 Griz Basketball Schedule Tracker

And once again, for the second straight year, the Griz are the last team in the conference to not announce their schedule. I have it on good authority that it's complete, but they just haven't announced it yet. I'm gonna be honest with all of you, Jackson Wagner is not a very good SID. Many of you know this from him still not updating the roster as well. When it's the offseason for that sport, he doesn't wanna put any focus into it. He's so entrenched in Volleyball right now that Basketball is a complete afterthought despite the fact that the season is less than 2 months away. All it takes is one post. I miss Nic Hallisey. He's doing a good job leading Griz Marketing, but man do I miss him in the SID office.

I'm working hard to uncover the final 3 opponents but the problem is a lot of these non-D1 teams wait until the literal last second to announce their schedules. I feel pretty good that Carroll is one of the opponents, but I cannot figure out who the other two are. I don't think any of them are D1 as about 80-85% of D1 teams have now announced their schedules including almost everyone out west, so I'm continuing to scour the internet with the non-D1s to figure this out. The athletic department needs to do something though cause this is ridiculous. I miss the days of the schedule getting announced in August.

And here is the official 24-25 non-conference schedule! The remaining 3 games as suspected were non-D1 home games. We will open up the season on Monday November 4 against Divison II Hawaii Hilo and in between the Oregon - Tennessee road trip, we will host Northwest Indian College on Sunday November 10. The final game added will be on Tuesday December 10 against Tech. When Tech released their schedule in July, they did not have us on it so this was probably a late add. Definitely not stoked about 3 non-D1 home games, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. At least this is the first ever matchup with Hawaii Hilo, so at least it's somebody new.

Of these 13 opponents, 3 of them were on last years schedule (Oregon, NWIC, Tech). Overall, I like this schedule though. It's a challenging road schedule for sure and we will be tested night in and night out, but we have the potential to go 7-0 at home in the non-conference with SDSU being the crown jewel of the home slate. I don't like the big layoff between the end of non-conference and the start of conference play so hopefully Decuire has a plan to help with that. Below, I will attach the breakdown by conference so you can see who is where and what that all looks like. Should be an exciting season, I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for sticking with me all offseason guys. See ya November 4!

Go Griz!

Some games I found out about the LG playing (Other than BSC opponents) are:
05 November - @ Gonzaga
07 December - South Dakota State
04 December - @ North Dakota State
16 December - Cal Poly
Doesn't look like we play Grand Canyon and Washington State this year, though.

I heard they've had a really brutal time putting together a schedule this year. Similarly to what the Men went through last offseason. I heard they might not play a full 13 game non-conference schedule

That schedule is for the women's team.
Well, the Heading does say: '2024-2025 Griz Basketball Schedule Tracker.' It didn't differentiate one or the other between the men's BB schedule and the LG's. Specifically since the posting by 'GrizWin99' had already noticed the men's schedule to begin with. In my post yesterday I did mention 'LG' and some of the teams they have scheduled for their out of conference schedule so what's the clarification for?
'casewinter13' stated in the posting provided that the LG @ UW 11/17. In actuality UW plays the LG in Missoula 11/17 as confirmed by the UW Athletic site. Which is the reason I provided the 'schedule for the women's team' by said UW to show the confirmation of just where the game is scheduled.

Maybe the LG can get a game with Boise State. Twice even in a home-and-home? I've noticed that the Bronco's only have reported four games for their OCC schedule so far: for the dates of 22, 29th and 30th of Nov/01 Dec.
Playing the same team twice in the same season, even though not a conference foe, wouldn't sound so unusual, would it?

Let's compile a list so far of what we got for the Lady Griz:
November 5 @ Gonzaga
November 14 vs. Cal Poly
November 17 vs. Washington
November 21 @ North Dakota
November 24 @ Minnesota
December 4 @ North Dakota State
December 7 vs. South Dakota State

Well, I guess Boise State just recently has filled in with at least a twelve game nonconference schedule. There aren't that many options out there left, unless games east of the Miss, for instance. Can a Division I school at a Div. II school; like in the LG playing a game against MSU-Billings in Billings. What harm would that do? Maybe schedule/host a game with Carroll College?

The men added an exhibition game against D2 St. Martin's on Tuesday, October 22. That means 2 weeks from tomorrow, we officially have Basketball to talk about, which is good because the way Football is currently going, we could use something exciting to talk about.

As for the Lady Griz, I haven't found anything new outside of the 7 we already know about. We did however have the wrong date for the home game against Cal Poly. That game is on November 14, three days before we host UW. I'm willing to bet the Lady Griz are signed up for an MTE somewhere that probably gives them about 9 or 10 games on the books. Whatever is left after that is likely non D1s. They have to be announcing the schedule pretty soon here. We're less than a month away from the start of the season.

Here's to an exciting upcoming season for both squads!

Thanks for sharing what you know. Brian and staff must have run into some serious challenges getting games on the books. I'm cautiously optimistic that this group has a legit chance at winning the conference.

Ace Sauerwein mentioned on the Daily Drive a couple weeks ago that they have struggled getting games. The Men went through that last year and ended up settling for three in season home and homes. Things don’t look quite that dire but they’ve definitely had their challenges if we still don’t have an official announcement
