No, you quite literally did not.

First of all, nobody else would brag about something being “sparse” unless referencing a pejorative or you want a smaller amount of that something. For instance, someone might brag about their sparse dui record (not a bubcatz coach, of course).

Second, is there a word more sparse than sparse? Ah yes, how about “one”.

The bubcatz have won exactly one title (and even that one is in dispute and eons before The Griz’s two titles, 2>1). So if you truly understood the meaning of “sparse”, you would know it implies more than one.

I ran into him in Missoula this year. It was a brief interaction and I didn't start smack talking the bobcats, but he could not have been more kind and classy. Really walked away thinking he was a good kid. Just because he wears the blue jersey doesn't mean he is somehow a bad person, and I'm glad to see Griz fans able to be classy in return.

Watch this interview starting at about the 2:00 mark. It’s after the 2022 game as Cat fans are celebrating a Griz loss far more than a Cats win. Mellott is basically asking fans to respect our players because they’ve worked just as hard as his own teammates.

If any Griz fans weren’t Mellott fans before they saw this, I guarantee some will rethink it after watching it.
