2023 Big Sky Conf. Attendance

I just don't understand their method of counting. Announcer at the game said 9th straight game at capacity yet stated attendance was 1000 less than ISU, not to mention Cat etc games in the past. I was in the stadium and there were sections of rows empty on all four sides of the stadium. On Saturday there were seats open on my direct side (allowing us extra room to not be smashed I add) and in the row directly in front of us and and two rows behind. NO WAY are that many people crashing boxes, in beer garden ALL GAME LONG. These were not late comers or early leavers they NEVER CAME. I suspect they want to inflate attendance by using paid tickets to get a better standing in the nation attendance wise. I'm sure PAID attendance is near or at capacity, but not even close to butts in seats.

It would seem that you do understand. NCAA attendance is tickets sold.

This! How many times do people need to be told that it is NOT 'butts in the seats' that are counted!!

The same amount of times where individuals ask what time is the GRIZ game or what TV channel they can watch the game. Morons!

Attendance has been this way FOREVER. I don't see why people are getting their panties in a wad over it now. A lot of season ticket holders are older and don't come to the games once the weather gets cold. Some season ticket holders have extra tickets in order to bring guests, sometimes those tickets go unused especially for colder weather games. These two things are true of my Missoula family. But the University still got paid for the tickets so they count. The end.

Good post. We have season tickets in the NEZ, and obviously are unable to make it over from Seattle every home game. We do our best to ensure there are butts (cold and loud) in our seats, but one or two games a year that may not happen.

Think of it this way. A paid-for ticket is attendance the same way an absentee ballot is a vote.

My family also tries to give away their unused tickets but sometimes there are no takers. It is what it is.

Then, quite a few fans are 'voting' absentee lately.
I do have a question, an honest one. WGS seats 25,200+, right? How can they 'sell' 26,686 'seats'? Isn't that fraud, selling some seats twice? Bugsy Seagal got killed for that kind of racket.

Why then is at "capacity" as stated by announcer at Sac game was a thousand less than the total at the ISU game? Seems to me capacity defined as the maximum amount that something can contain can't be a thousand less unless they removed 1000seats/tickets for sale for the Sac Game thus lowering the "capacity". And by the way there were still tickets for sale on Griz tix at game time. I guess we will see the true "capacity" in two weeks and it will be much higher than "capacity" against Sac.

My understanding is that for homecoming and the Brawl, there are increased SRO and/or temp seating tix. I understand that rocket science can be difficult.

You should channel that energy toward something important.
