How was Pibal?
Not bad. His snaps were clean on the punts. He had one high one up by the face mask of the holder on a PAT, but other than that he was on the money.

Hopefully OD mentored him some. It’s crazy to think OD didn’t have a single botched snap in almost 600 attempts. I wonder how often that happens.

I knew replacing the most accurate Field Goal Kicker in University of Montana history (Kevin Macias) was going to be a problem at best case scenario. But last night was down right F U G L Y. 🤣

I like that Hauck said the Griz are now the turning their attention to getting bigger, faster and stronger (showing up in August in condition) and recruiting.

Aaron Fontes shinned in the scrimmage.

Now everyone knows why I was so excited when this speedy 3 star WR, with an offer from Colorado State, signed with UM.

PLAYA

WR Ryan Simpson is becoming the player I thought he would, that was an outstanding back shoulder TD catch and got his feet in... his future is bright.

Was disappointed 6'5" WR Nick Williams dropped that long pass up the sidelines. But it was good experience for the RS-FR. And I am sure he won't forget the drop all off-season. (Being an OLD former WR myself, I remember drops to this day. Lol)

I think the players look the part (BSC Championship caliber). But will need to hit weights even more till fall, and will need the stars that didn't play in the scrimmage to play in fall. With work, this is a national contending team. No doubt about it.

Your memory seems short; impatient fans were calling for Macias' hide early last year after a couple bad kicks and connected the criticism to the narrative to knock all transfers. It took many reminders that we have a ST coach worthy of our trust.

I wouldn't call it a drop; he completely whiffed it. Went right between his hands, like he lost vision of it.

Anyone who didn’t know we got a good one wasn’t paying attention.

Kale Edwards, 2019 Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year is showing his potential...
He and Hustedt form quite a pair of young bookends.

Both his Td catches he had to adjust his body mid-air. Really impressive. I think he'll get a lot of similar opportunities, unfortunately. The QBs passing wasn't spectactular. I lot of "ducks/jump-balls"

Williams looked terrible. Yeah, he might have the speed and size to get open, but his hands are not nearly as impressive. He dropped (and/or whiffed) on several catchable balls. I'm not giving up on him, but he could not have made a worse first impression.

So, he’ll be converted to a corner?

I seem to remember Toure having drop problems his first year. The game is faster at this level and takes some adjustments. No time to give up on Williams.

If you had asked everyone here after 2018, they would have told you that Toure had taken a step back, and that Akem was gonna be the one breaking records and getting NFL looks. Similar with Ellis Henderson after his up and down Freshman season in 2012.

Williams has a lot of time to get better. He'll be fine.

Hell there were people here who were already willing to give up on Fontes after his spate of fumbled punts… six months later and he’s the breakout star of the spring game.
