So what you are saying is that you are a douche?

Come on. Leave him alone. He provided some good info. It looks like his son took the high road. That's good for the Griz. Parents always protect their kids. Don't you?

Yeah agreed no need to sling insults.

Seems to me it has nothing to do with protecting his kid and more to do with bad mouthing the coach. There was no reason he needed to add that part to the post.

Consider who was the douche here. Let me know if you want my opinion.

Meh. Pretty sure he can find another message board....heard there were several MAC boards....even a MW board available.

Bottom line is his info is suspect. He is not a fan of Hauck...or Baer. That's fine. I get it. But, treat his posts for what they are and consider the obvious bias.

HIs son knows Bell, played with Bell in JC, and talked to him recently. HIs information is good on this and has nothing to do with bias.

Pot or Kettle then?

from what i have seen and heard about the Counts kid.....is there any reason he would not be offered a pwo ? he has the stats, ability etc. to play at the fcs level imo....is there something that i am missing ? grades, trouble, he has no interest in the next level ?

Just a guess; Hes the same as Turner (Griz recruit 2018) but not as fast. Just wonder if the coaches dont want to double up on a similar player.

Speed kills

I’ve heard Counts was told there is no roster spot for him at the moment but could walkon if something opened up which could have just happened because Rey Green just left the team. Transferring to Mt Sac JC

So now it's just Eastwood and Turner listed as RBs, with Graves and maybe Janacaro able to step in. We do have DeWaters and Ostmo, but I doubt they'll play right away.

Without a transfer, that's pretty dang thin.

I’m thinking Greg Bell will be a possibility along with a JC guy but we will see. Graves could play RB too and I hope Flowers could get some carries also.

Ostmo maybe could play right away. If Green still had his scholarship next year (no clue if Bobby yanked it) they would be better suited using it on someone faster than Counts. Counts as a walk on is fine, but just don't think he has the speed to be a scholarship player year one at FCS level.

As for Green, could see this was coming with his limited reps, but it does leave an even bigger hole. The need for dropdown/bounceback is now magnified.

I don't believe that is how it works.

I believe it actually does. Bell preserved his red-shirt by only playing in four games. He never actually made it to San Diego State because he didn't qualify academically. He signed, but never ended up enrolling. He was at a JUCO for two years, then went to Nebraska and played in four games. I actually do believe he is free to go to another FBS school, unless I'm missing something.

Also, I don't know if I would consider his Twitter as an insight into what he's doing either. Yes, these days, MOST of these kids you can get a good sense, but, he literally never posts anything about himself, and if you're just going by followers and following to say there's a "buzz" with the Griz. Well, he follows two Griz coaches and Akem, but he also follows Choate and Orphey too, so I guess there's a buzz with him possibly going to MSU too.

He played in games at Nebraska this year. Yes only four so this became his redshirt year, but just by red shirting doesn't fulfill the academic year at your new institution requirement for a same level transfer without a waiver. Think of Robby Hauck, all he did was redshirt at NAU and he still had to get waiver approval to be eligible this year from both the Big Sky and the NCAA.

If Bell wanted to transfer to any FBS school he would need a waiver approval to play right away. If it didn't get approved he would lose his junior year sitting out. Unless you can find something in the NCAA transfer manual I am missing.

You are mixing up all sorts of rules. The big sky conference does not allow inner conference transfers. That’s why Robby needed a waiver. The big sky was blocking the transfer not the ncaa. Nebraska already did block Oregon state and all other inner conference members from Bell. So bell at this point after redshirting means he can go anywhere outside of his conference and that was not written into his release (al la Oregon state) many upper fbs schools won’t take him because he’s a 1-1 year player without a huge track record of success. Many other FBS programs will welcome him however, as will fcs programs

No. The way I understand it is if he wants to make a lateral move he has to sit out a year unless he petitions the NCAA the way Robbie did in making a lateral move from Northern Arizona to Montana. It had nothing to do with the conference. If you wants to move down to FCS, he can play right away provided that he has two years of eligibility remaining. Otherwise, he would need to be a graduate transfer weather moving laterally or down to FCS with only one year of eligibility left.

This is all the Griz have on the roster...

4 Rey Green R-Jr. RB 5-11 205 Vancouver, Wash. / Union HS
25 Adam Eastwood R-So. RB 6-1 215 Del Mar, Calif. / Cathedral Catholic
32 Drew Turner R-Fr. RB 6-0 210 Kalispell, Mont. / Glacier HS
TBD Elias Dewaters Fr. RB 5-10 185 Missoula, Mont. / Sentinel HS
TBD Nick Ostmo Fr. RB 6-0 215 Portland, Ore. / Lincoln HS

Will be interesting if UM rides with these dudes or looks for another Upperclassman.

Well you can officially take Rey Green off the list.
