As I mentioned in my expectations for the griz thread, I would be starting my predictions today for every Big Sky team Starting with Cal Poly, and then we will go in alphabetical order. Cal Poly is coming off of one it's better seasons in a while, however this season their without QB Dano Graves. Last year they went 8-3 just to get bounced in their first playoff game (home against San Diego, really?). When I originally came up with the idea to do this, I didn't think Cal Poly would make the playoffs this year, but after looking at their schedule and arguably having the easiest conference schedule this year in the Big Sky, I changed my mind. Here's what their schedule looks like.
VS. Colgate-W
@ San Jose State-L
@ N. Iowa-L
VS. NAU-L
@ ISU-W
@ SUU-W
VS. Weber-W
@ UC Davis-W
VS. PSU-W
VS. Sac State-W
@UNC-W
My prediction: 8-3. Cal Poly gets knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. For those of you wondering why I am doing this, I'm doing it because my hope is by the end of this, we can get a better assessment of where the Griz will be at in the conference. This is one huge advantage the Griz have this year is not playing Cal Poly, thank god. Alright that's my assessment of Cal Poly. What do you guys think?

Joe Protheroe returns next season and Alex Kuresea was the QB at PSU.

Look for SB Kyle Lewis to have a monster season. He started last season, but had half the carries as Kori Garcia at the 2nd SB position. He will move to the 1rst SB position this season and take the majority of the carries from the SB position. He is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. He averaged 9.7 yards a carry and 17 yards per reception last season.

Khaleel Jenkins replaces Dano Graves at QB. He is more of a home run threat with his legs than Graves, but we will miss Dano's leadership and passing ability. The triple option is most effective when you have a 4th option of passing the ball. You can make a defense pay when the crowd the box. I believe Jenkins will be an effective passer. If he is look for Cal Poly's offense to roll again in 2017.

The biggest factor that will determine if we return to the playoffs will be if we can improve on a defense that was mediocre at best last season. Signs from spring practice are promising, but only time will tell.

Oops my bad, I always get those two mixed up. Just fixed it.

Like NAU, they always seem to fade at the end of the season. Maybe with a bit softer schedule they make it further this year. I still can't believe they lost to San Diego.
