With coaches on the road scouting wanted to post a couple recent offers Decuire put out to some 2017 recruits. These are guys that just finished their Sophmore year of high school.

Timmy Falls 6'2" SG Dublin, CA. Received his offer this weekend "after a stellar performance at the Adidas Gauntlet tournament in Dallas. Montana is his first offer."

Here are his highlights from that tournament.

The other offer is Trevon Abdullah 6'5" SF out of Desert Pines, NV. Northern Colorado, NAU, and Southern Utah have also offered.

Um, duh. Do you believe I seriously think we have a shot at the #1 recruit in the nation? How dumb are you?

The first question recruits are going to ask: "Will I get a stipend?"

This is the worse thing that could happen to small to mid sized schools. How can the likes of Montana compete in NCAA DIV 1 athletics with this now? This is the one time I do hope politicians can step in and try to have these stipends paid through the NCAA revenue to all schools in the NCAA.

Honestly, as time goes the more the haves and have nots are being separated in NCAA div 1 athletics. For the sake of competition, I'd hope there are ways to even the playing field again.

Maybe this is a time for a reality check. UM, MSU, and the other Big Sky schools are, and will always be amongst the "have nots". Maybe another NCAA basketball Division needs to be formed, similar to Div.1-AA was for football. This for like schools who do not choose to provide stipends.

The last several years, I've believed that will eventually be reality. The question is when and who we would be joining in with?

North Dakota (Big Sky Conference) is offering stipends. This is going to have to happen for the Griz too in order to remain competitive.

My son is a teacher at Dublin High and has had Timmy in a class....he told me that he appears to be a nice kid who always has his homework done, isn't disruptive in class, isn't a genius but is a decent student...sounds like he could be a good recruit to me...

Anybody know if Timmy visited last month on the 28th and 29th or will be this month on the same days?
Yes. Timmy was in Town on those days with his Dad on an Unofficial visit. Scrimmaged with the Team along with the 2016's that were there.
