2017 NFL Draft

With the 2017 NFL Draft finished, a few brief insights of mine.
Draft day winners- Redskins, 49ers, Texans, and Broncos (they all drafted quality players late, due to stock dropping).
Draft day losers- Bears (trading what they did to move up 1 spot, absolutely made no sense). The same player would have likely been available next.
Congratulations Texans, In my opinion, they landed the best QB and best leader in Watson. I feel he is a Championship Caliber QB.
As for my Eagles, I'm glad to see they drafted to fill their needs. No picks to really complain about. I am hoping that Derek Barnett, becomes an All Pro.

Let's get a good discussion going here about this draft. Opinions, winners, losers, likes, dislikes, how'd your team do?

I don't really like predicting draft success this soon after the draft. It will take a few years to see what happens.
I thought the Chargers drafted for need and helping Rivers getting the Clemson WR and some good O-linemen. It will be interesting to see if any Griz players end up making an NFL roster.

I love the Clemson WR. You are right, it takes a few years to truly evaluate the draft, just like it does with recruiting classes. However, it is funner and more daring going out on the limb early. It is a pet peeve of mine, when someone claims "I knew such and such would be a stud, star, great, terrific, etc" after a player or players have shown to be. Yet the person making the claim, never had the balls to say it to begin with. I wish more posters and sports fans would go out on the limb early, and give an honest opinion, thought, etc beforehand.

As for this draft, I was very surprised that Lorenzo Jerome (the St Francis safety) was not drafted. I have a feeling he will make it in the NFL. I am hoping Kidder, Sanders, Nelson find a way to stick. Kidder has the tools. Sanders needs to become more consistent in pass defense, and Nelson just needs to prove he can be a consistent NFL caliber CB. Fortunately for him, the Chiefs did not draft any other CBs.

I thought the Browns did a pretty good job. The Bears well......

The Browns did great. They would have made my list, had they not taken a guy under investigation. Then turn around and say, they didn't do a background check and he might not stick. That is pure stupidity in this day and age. Why draft a player, if you are not sure of his background?
