2017 Breakout Player Predictions

A lot of right answers so far, because their is going to be a lot of new faces contributing this season.

I think the Hill and Lee read option will be deadly.

And I think the returning starters at WR are going to have lots of company this season: Akem, Toure, Corbin...with those giant catch radius'.

Defensively, I think Sandry is an obvious choice. I would not be surprised to see Markel Sanders steps it up to being an all conference type CB. I am so excited to see what Sims can do with his added weight. He just may develop into an all time GRIZ great.

Offensively, Akem is my main choice. Secondary choices are, whoever emerges at QB, and Thayne Jackson. Based on athleticism, and interviews, I am edging toward Caleb for QB (I cannot pinpoint what I like about him, but I feel he is a natural leader). Speaking of leadership, Thayne Jackson has proven to be the leader of his class. He also has dedicated himself to being ready physically. Starting or not, he will certainly prove himself. I won't be surprised if Jackson becomes an all time great GRIZ OL.

I am so excited to see all of Stitt's young recruits develop and mature. The question is, how long will it take for them to become the heart and soul of the team? Realistically, that is 2018. I am hoping 2017 is a big year for many of them.

Better be for they might not have the same coach if they don't.

Sandry defense
Caleb Hill offense. I when Hill gets his chance he is going to be awesome.

Thayne Jackson. He's been a Grizophile since day one. Hung ho and enthusiastic kid who will help lead us back to the line dominance we need to run the offense.

It's Butte, don't ask.

Offense - Phillips - Purely because I want this to be a special season, and for that to be true our QB needs to play great!

Defense - Olson - This guy is a different level athlete than most at this level. Simply put he is bigger faster and stronger than other players on the field!

Binham 600+ yrds and 8+ tds.
Any Qb who can throw a catchable ball on 4th down.
Sanders staying level headed after a good break up, getting 3+ ints McKinley and Sanders being consistant they have the skills and lots of experience. Opposing offenses aren't going to have running success, they will be chucking it up to move the chains. Sanders will have to cover on an island and McKinley is going to need a little over the top Saftey help with the burners. Sanders could be great and he is going to get challenged hope he shines.

agree, teams are going to have a tough time running against us. Also we will likely be ahead in a lot of games forcing teams to pass. Looking for our pass rush and secondary to light it up!!

Actually, there's quite a few to consider.

Offense: Reese Philips and Josh Labrador.

Defense: Jace Lewis and Cy Sirmon.

Then there's Samori Toure.

I'll pass on anything to do with a hung ho....

I think we will know who the break out players will be when we play the Huskies..we might all be
surprised! Its going to be interesting to see how our defense holds up against a team that competed
with Alabama...

...I guess you guys do have a few jock sniffers.....literally....knowing how hung a guy is... lol

I can see Thayne being the breakout. Not knowing anything but seeing his interview with Skyline when CN interviews the o line and germer. He's going to be a leader in your program sooner than later. Like not a leader in his class which he was before he got here. A leader for the team. I'm talking make that kid a three year captain. Dead serious. He is very well spoken. Confident but not arrogant at all. And he interacts well in the interview. He's a natural at it. I as a Cat fan, want to see more TJ interviews.

Brennan Corbin @ WR.........Not much talk or media on this kid. Looks to have the length and speed to be an immediate impact this year....Looked like a man amongst boys on film his HS SR year...

So how has he looked in Spring, and Fall Ball??
