Wow!!! Naccadroppo was a senior that has given 4 years to the Griz program....no way that Stitt wouldn't honor his commitment......he must have decided to concentrate on his studies
Ok I laughed.

He said on his Instagram that he is finishing up at Whitworth and that "the coaches didn't treat people well so he left". Hard to go from Uncle Pflugrad to Grandpa Delaney and then on to a coach like Stitt. Best of luck to Chase.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if he just quit, or if he was cut?

No, just says that he left.

We have the big bodies to control the middle of the field and speed to take the top off on the outside...once again I'm sure we will be fine.

As someone mentioned early, Koby Eaton could be a big time contributor. Tall, fast, basketball background. I see him becoming a Craig Chambers type deep threat if he fulfills his potential.

That was me. I am high on Eaton.

Just as I am on Daum (16:30 min to 17:25 min) and Ryan (17:25 min to 17:50 min).

We needed a guy like Stitt so damn bad. Bringing back the "tough".

Here is kind of what we are looking at: (possible roster wise, year then alphabetical)

JR Homan - 6'2", 174
JR Horner - 6'5", 220
JR Janssen - 6'0, 195
SO Carlson - 6'4" 205
SO Curran - 6'2", 200
SO Lyons - 5'9", 175
==============================
FR Bingham - 6'3", 220
FR Calhoun - 5'10", 175
FR Daum - 6'1", 180
FR Eaton - 6'3", 185
FR Rooks - 6'2", 185
FR Ryan - 6'3", 220
==============================
FR Akem - 6'4", 185
FR Nagler - 6'3", 210
FR Nash - 6'2", 175
==============================
FR Corbin - 6'5", 200 *** HOPEFULLY***

So going off this list, and with the info that Nac has transferred out, here's a wild ass guess at how the depth will look at the start of spring:

X - Eaton / Homan / Ryan / Salomon
Z - Curran / Janssen / Rooks /
H - Horner / Carlson / Bingham / Louie-McGee
Y - Lyons / Daum / Calhoun / Hollenbeck

From fall camp Eaton was damned impressive, I'm excited for what he'll bring. Curran and Horner will be relied upon to be the early studs as they've got the most experience of this corps. I really like the way Horner plays, he can block and is a match-up nightmare.

I'm always a fan of the guys that have to work extra hard and prove they belong despite the odds. Lyons and Hollenbeck are maybe those two. Outside of Horner I think they're the only two non-Stitt recruits that weren't cut after last spring camp. Lyons is fast and slippery, versatile, and works hard. He's incredibly committed to improvement and putting in work every day, a trait not all of last year's WRs had. Hollenbeck as what I'd guess was a walk-on was stellar last spring. He got hurt in the fall and missed the whole season. He'll be battling to stay on the roster again I'd bet, but if he can show improvement over last year, he'll show he belongs.

Janssen has been the topic of a ton of rumors, I hope he's staying and can get synced into this offense. If so that would be a huge boost. Carlson, hopefully healthy now, will be another guy that brings some experience and will be out there a ton. Keep in mind a lot of these guys have good size and strength, they'll help block up field and be a big boost to the running game too.

Daum, Ryan, & Bingham, I think all three got knocked out of fall camp (Ryan before it even started), so we'll have to see how they've adapted and will plug in. There's high hopes for all three.

Homan, obviously his highlight reel suggests big things. We'll need to see how he adapts to FCS, the QBs, the offense, etc.

Rooks, looks like a great athlete, lots of drops in the fall. Louie-McGee and Salomon might've been late additions or just didn't play too much, I don't recall a lot from them in fall camp.

So are we rebuilding or reloading with this group of wr's?

Both?

Horner / Curran / Lyons / Carlson / Janssen are bringing experience and should step up.

The younger group suggests rebuilding though, will have to see if a bunch of RS frosh are ready to step it up.

I'm old enough to remember when football coaches were like drill sergeants. Heck, now even drill sergeants have to be nice guys.

...Would Daum be getting all of the hype if he wasn't a Butte kid? If he was out of state would we be hyping him the way we have been on this board for the last 2 years? If he lives up to the hype then watch out, I can't wait to see it play out...

To answer your questions, the answer is yes. Even the coaches are touting Daum. Hard to blame the fans then.

Receivers coach Mike Ferriter tweeted, "Can't wait to get this guy on campus!", on a re-tweet of a sportswriter tweeting, "Dalton Daum is lightening in the 100. Future Griz football WR takes it (state) in 10.81." Here is the link: https://twitter.com/MFerriter/status/602215925861863424

On the signing day press conference video, head coach Bob Stitt said Daum is going to put years on his (Stitt) life by not having to call goal-line plays (players getting run-down), that Daum can make people miss and has the speed to take it all the way to the house. He said they are going to get Daum the ball. Stitt said Daum IS the Fly Sweep. And that they will get him the ball on screens too. He also mentioned how versatile Daum is, that they will play him outside as well as inside. Stitt said, "Dalton is an exciting, exciting guy."

People that had never seen Daum play, but then watched the Montana Shrine All Star Football game where Daum returned the second half kickoff for a touchdown saw his ability. He made the other 21 All Stars on the field look like they were standing still.

Explosive. I know Stitt likes explosive WRs who are great route runners and have breakaway speed with great hands and strong families with a good work ethic. Time will tell whether Stitt will succeed once he gets the players he wants.

Horner & Curran are now the main dudes returning.

Josh Janssen might be ripe to get in the mix of things. Also would be good to see Reese Carlson make a strong comeback.

Lyons and some of the guys red shirting like Daum and Ryan should rise up too.

How come Janssen barely saw the field this year? Thought he looked great at the end of 2014.?

Wow... Jones is graduating, Henderson is foregoing his remaining eligibility, the baseball player-turned-receiver is out of eligibility and the guy he replaced has left the team. Are you purporting to have some INSIDE info? I thought we were set.

I have no direct idea why. I'd heard he wasn't getting it for a while. I also did observe some drops and bad routes in both spring and fall - but it wasn't horribly bad, plenty of other WRs had way more issues. Maybe he's up to speed now? I hope he is, based on 2014 you'd think he could really be an impact player.

also add burke, the only other returning senior is gone due to concussions and yes, things will be different at the wide out.....

With the uptempo pace, you're supposed to get about twice as many practice reps compared to a regular offense. So at least there's that...

First of all Scanners, a classic movie. Second "big changes"....ah replacing three starters and a one time 4th starter results in "big " changes no matter what. You are really on a limb with that prediction....unless you have more info than other returnees will battle with already verballed not really sure you have any big news. Yawn....
